Job Requirements

The responsibilities of the Scientist will be to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment to operate automated laboratory equipment and systems to the support of the vaccines and biologics pre-clinical and clinical studies. The candidate will be able to leverage the understanding of laboratory equipment impacting bioanalytical procedures supporting pre-clinical and clinical studies.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate various automated systems and laboratory equipment
  • Ad-hoc instrument troubleshooting, error recovery.
  • Develop/update operations SOPs
  • Manage data integrity through the automated process
  • Work jointly with department members, IT, and across functional teams to contribute to operate and support our screening infrastructure including our clinical screening libraries, lab instrumentation and robotic platforms, and development of novel data handling and analysis workflows.
  • Collaborate to identify, evaluate, and recommend novel and cutting-edge automation and assay strategies to drive our discovery programs, including machine learning and artificial intelligence.
  • Ability to oversee and drive the design, planning and execution of robust automation strategies to support various vaccine program clinical assay
  • Contribute to the validation and implementation of novel automated workflows

Work Experience

Qualifications

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Automated Sciences, Computer Science, Biology, Chemistry or equivalent with scientific expertise with laboratory equipment in the development and execution of assays in a regulated bioanalytical environment.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Experience with liquid handling systems - (e.g. Beckman, Labcyte, Tecan, Hamilton, Brooks)
  • Experience with integrated robotic system schedulers (e.g. HighResolution BioSolution, Biosero, Thermo)
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Ability to generate, evaluate and understand scientific data generated on robotic platforms.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Experience working in pharmaceutical or biotech company and/or laboratory experience
  • Microsoft programming languages (VB, C#, labview or equivalent)
  • Electro-Mechanical design/assembly skills
  • Use of electronic laboratory notebooks
  • Experience with GLP
