Job Description

Are you interested in honing your computational skills and applying them to cutting-edge technologies? If you are interested in building a mechanistic understanding of cancer evolution that translates into meaningful clinical impact, this is the perfect role for you! Join our diverse, multidisciplinary team engaged in developing machine-learning methods to understand how lineage plasticity mediates metastasis and acquired resistance in cancer.

 

We are searching for an outstanding Bioinformatics Engineer with an interest in working closely with computational biologists and experimental biologists to deploy bioinformatic methods and resources relevant to single-cell sequencing and spatial imaging. The focus of this work is the building and maintenance of software tools, pipelines, and resources for integrative analysis of high throughput sequencing and imaging data.

 

You are:

  • Adept at planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with the needs of the group
  • Adept at building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
  • An effective communicator, capable of resolving how best to reach different audiences
  • Able to learn quickly, applying insights from past efforts to new situations

You have:

  • A PhD degree or equivalent experience in biological sciences, mathematics, physics, bioinformatics, or related discipline with a quantitative background.
  • Knowledge of sequencing and imaging technologies and their application
  • Proven experience with computational tools and workflows for the analysis of genomic datasets
  • Strong programming skills and proficiency in scientific computing software and scripting languages such as Python and R.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce well-designed, documented, version-controlled code in a team setting.
  • Solid understanding of Linux (or similar operating systems), HPC, and cloud computing environments
  • Superb communication and written skills
