Position Summary
The HR Strategic Initiatives Manager, HR Strategy & Governance, is responsible for driving operational excellence and supporting the execution of HR strategic initiatives that align with enterprise priorities and the CHRO’s vision. A successful candidate will enjoy being part of a small team and partnering with a wide range of stakeholders in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This role ensures the successful execution of high-impact projects by applying structured project management practices, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and driving continuous improvement across HR operations.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Program Management
- Provide end-to-end project support for HR strategic initiatives, including planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting.
- Develop and maintain tailored project plans, timelines, and milestones.
- Track progress, manage risks, and resolve issues to keep projects on time and within scope.
- Facilitate workshops and meetings to drive alignment, clarify roles, and ensure accountability across stakeholders.
- Maintain and enhance internal tools (e.g., SharePoint, Teams) to support transparency, version control, and knowledge sharing.
- Implement Project Plans: Execute the project plans by coordinating with team members, assigning tasks, and ensuring that each task is completed on time and within the defined scope. Regularly monitor progress and make adjustments as needed to stay on track.
- Quality Assurance and Control: Implement quality assurance and control measures to ensure that the project deliverables meet the required standards and specifications. Conduct regular reviews and testing to identify and address any issues or defects promptly.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Identify, analyze, and manage relationships with individuals and/or groups who have interest in the project.
- Build strong relationships with HR leaders, cross-functional teams, and enterprise stakeholders to ensure alignment and progress.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to streamline project workflows and improve team efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications
- 4–6 years of relevant program and/or project management experience.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects independently.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Sharepoint, Teams).
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP or equivalent project management certification.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt to evolving priorities with resilience and good humor.
- Experience working cross-functionally and building trusted relationships across all levels.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate complex ideas to executive audiences.
- Self-initiating, collaborative, and solution-oriented mindset.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position
$85,400 - $142,400
