Job Description

The Business Insights & Strategy team within US Finance acts as internal strategy consultants, providing thought leadership and actionable insights to support major Menu, Marketing and other strategic growth initiatives, such as Digital and Delivery. We use a combination of consumer, competitor, and internal data to understand and communicate industry trends as well as our own performance to our key partners. We generate insights to find opportunities to optimize our initiatives and we help bring both tactical and long-term strategies to life across our network of over 14,000 US restaurants.

Position description

McDonald's US has expanded its Strategy team to guide and support growth-oriented priorities. This includes defining the 3-year and 1-year strategies for the US business, identifying sources of future growth, and creating new insights-based capabilities.

In this role, you will give to these priorities in the following ways:

  • Lead special projects initiated by the US Senior Leadership Team or Board of Directors
  • Coordinate with US CEO and CFO and Director of Strategy to own annual strategy-setting processes
  • Drive development of US competitive intelligence capabilities, outlining industry outlook and strategic opportunities
  • Develop executive-level communications on behalf of the US strategy team
  • Support and elevate strategic capabilities at McDonald's by leading and shaping overall US strategic priorities

Qualifications

Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience in management consulting or a corporate strategy setting
  • Experience leading executive-level presentations
  • Experience managing direct reports preferred but not required

Qualifications

  • Strategist and leader with strong intuition thinking around business performance, business drivers, and overall competitive landscape
  • Strong influencing skills; a team player with the ability to establish relationships and work reciprocally across lines of senior management and other staff as appropriate.
  • Effective communicator with ability to convey concepts and stories to various levels of leadership
  • Ability to work in an ambiguous environment
  • Effective leader and manager capable of leading large cross-functional teams and mentoring junior members of the team
