Job Description

Could you be our next Employee Relations Advisor?
Employee Relations Advisors are the 'front line' of employee relations advice and support to key clients of the People team - Licensees, McOpCo, Restaurant Managers and employees. Well versed in McDonald's policies, procedures and employment laws, Employee Relations Advisors provide prompt service, accurate advice, and considered guidance to key clients in a way which adds value while protecting McDonald's brand as an employer of choice. What you can expect on a day-to-day basis?

  • Providing timely, accurate and pragmatic ER advice to Licensees, Restaurant Managers, restaurant employees, parents etc utilising various communication channels, including phone and email.
  • Developing simple and practical tools and resources aimed at improving knowledge and understanding of relevant workplace laws and associated compliance requirements.
  • Managing ER cases and investigating minor grievances and complaints in accordance with McDonald's policies and procedures.
  • Triaging serious complaints and referring such matters to an appropriate escalation point.
  • Collecting and maintaining information such as enquiries and complaint data to drive insights and improvements.
  • Developing and delivering ER training for managers.
  • Supporting the Head of Workplace Relations and Workplace Relations Consultants with projects, cases or initiatives.
  • Participating in Human Resources projects, as required.

Additional Information

Your keys to success:
Essential


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, Law or similar OR minimum 12 months experience working in the HR/ER field
  • An understanding of Australian employment laws and Modern Awards
  • Passionate about providing a high standard of customer service; willing to look for solutions, use own initiative and tailor advice to the McDonald's business.
  • Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills
  • Organised, methodical and able to effectively manage and prioritise multiple complex matters at once.
  • Able to work under minimal supervision and effectively in a team, contributing positively to team culture and the achievement of our success measures.
  • Ethical and responsible, understands and adheres to McDonald's Values and Standards of Business Conduct always.

Desirable

  • Experience in a similar position
  • McDonald's restaurant or fast-food industry experience
