Job Description

Our McDelivery business continues to grow and is becoming an ever more important part of our business. At the start of 2021 we created a dedicated Delivery department to centralise accountability and create further focus on this channel. The 4 strong team has focussed attention on enhancing the relationships with our 3PO partners and driving advocacy within the business for our Delivery channel. We now have a requirement to strengthen the team with a newly created Commercial Manager position. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving innovation initiatives for McDelivery to ensure we can achieve our ambition of becoming a £2billion Delivery business within the next 3 year time frame. Upon beginning the role the successful candidate will immediately become responsible for leading on a number of important initiatives to drive our future growth. The role will rely on strong inter-personal skills, excellent numeracy skills, will require good decision-making ability and an ability to think out of the box and solve complex business problems.

What will my accountabilities be?

  • Immediate initiatives that you will become involved in will be:
  • Remote coverage solutions - how do we extend a Delivery offering to restaurants the 3POs will not support?
  • Enhanced packaging solutions to support the best McDelivery Customer Experience
  • Optimising Delivery menu board and customer fee pricing
  • Future Delivery food menu opportunities
  • Ensure we balance the ambitions to grow our known customer base with the need to have a strong presence on the 3PO platforms
  • Future restaurant capacity alleviation solutions
  • High Street restaurant optimisation solutions
  • Establishing appropriate performance / KPIs to ensure we fully understand our Delivery performance in relation to the wider marketplace
  • Engagement with all levels of the system on future Delivery growth initiatives
  • Scenario Planning on future marketplace shifts
  • Analyse our approach to Delivery specific menuboard pricing opportunities
  • Oversight of all required tech developments and ramifications

What Team will I be a part?

You will be part of the Delivery department, led by the Delivery Director and incorporating the Delivery Solutions Manager and the Delivery Growth Manager. The department has strong links with a wide range of partners across the business, including but not limited to: Field Services, RSG, Development, Finance, BSI and Marketing.

Who are my customers?

With Delivery being such an integral part of our business you will have a wide range of partners. You will develop relationships with our Franchisees and McOpCo teams as well our 3PO partners. In order to be successful you will need to develop strong partner relationships with counterparts from all of the support departments listed above. With a strong spotlight on Delivery at present you will have opportunity to present information to both peers and also the Executive team, as well as to our Franchisee community.
