Maven Clinic is seeking a visionary and experienced Member Experience, Senior Content Manager to join our dynamic content team. This pivotal role is uniquely focused on deepening engagement and improving health outcomes for our existing members by architecting and executing a content strategy that educates, empowers, and supports them throughout their healthcare journey. A strategic leader and skilled practitioner, this role will seamlessly transition between drafting and producing compelling content and guiding high-level strategy. We’re looking for someone who is on the pulse of current content formats, bridging us from long-form content to more engaging and bite-sized formats. You will champion the use of AI tools to enhance content production efficiency and innovation, manage and scale a team of content producers, and partner closely with our Product team to optimize the content experience within our CMS platform. This role reports to the Director of Content & Production, Member Experience.

As a Member Experience, Senior Content Manager at Maven, you will:

  • Architect and Execute Member-Centric Content Strategy: Determine, develop, and drive a comprehensive content strategy focused on educating, engaging, and retaining Maven members, ultimately aiming to improve clinical outcomes. This includes identifying key themes, content pillars, and innovative formats tailored to Maven's diverse member demographics and their unique needs.
  • Lead Content Creation & Embody Instructional Design: Personally draft, edit, and produce high-impact, engaging content across various formats (articles, guides, designed assets, video scripts, interactive tools, etc). Crucially, you will apply instructional design principles to transform complex health topics into clear, understandable, and actionable guidance for our members.
  • Champion AI in Content Production: Identify, evaluate, and implement AI tools and technologies to streamline content creation workflows, personalize member experiences, enhance content quality, and unlock new format possibilities, ensuring Maven remains at the forefront of content innovation, yet keeps our unique member-centric tone.
  • Lead, Mentor & Scale: Lead, manage, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of content producers. Foster a collaborative, creative, and data-driven environment. Develop and implement strategies to effectively scale the team's capacity for content production and publishing.
  • Use Data-Driven Performance Analysis to Guide Strategy Iteration: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for member content and work with our Data Analytics team to build the dashboards you need. Continuously analyze content performance, A/B test approaches, and leverage data insights to inform, iterate, and optimize the content strategy, reporting on impact to stakeholders.
  • Product Partnership & Platform Enhancement: Partner closely with Product, Clinical, and Engineering teams to enhance content format offerings within our CMS. Partner with our Product team to drive improvements in the overall discoverability and accessibility of content for our members within the Maven platform.
  • Market & Trend Analysis: Stay informed on market trends in content formats, member engagement strategies within digital health, and the evolving needs and preferences of Maven's demographics. Monitor content performance to translate these insights into actionable initiatives.
  • Strategic & Tactical Execution: Demonstrate the ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels, from defining long-term content vision to rolling up your sleeves and producing content.

We’re looking for you to bring:

  • 7-10+ years of progressive experience in content marketing, with a significant focus on member/customer retention, education, and engagement (as opposed to solely lead generation).
  • Proven success in developing and implementing impactful content strategies that drive measurable results.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a demonstrable ability to translate complex clinical or health-related information into clear, engaging, and actionable content for diverse audiences, embodying principles of health literacy.
  • Experience utilizing AI tools for content creation, analysis, or personalization.
  • Demonstrated success in leading, managing, mentoring, and scaling content teams.
  • Strong experience partnering with product and technology teams to enhance in-platform content experiences and improve content discoverability.
  • Proficiency with content management systems (CMS) and familiarity with marketing automation tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, derive actionable insights, and present findings effectively.
  • Outstanding communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work effectively across multiple teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Health Education, Instructional Design, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep experience in the healthcare or health tech industry, with a strong understanding of clinical concepts, patient education principles, and the nuances of communicating sensitive health information.
  • Direct experience creating content specifically designed to drive positive health outcomes or support clinical programs.
  • Familiarity with various content performance metrics related to member engagement and health education.
  • Experience with video production and editing tools, and managing multimedia content projects.
  • Knowledge of graphic design principles and tools, with the ability to create designed assets yourself via platforms like Figma and Canva.
  • Experience with Contentful a plus

The base salary range for this role is $130,000 - $145,000 per year. You will also be entitled to receive stock options and benefits. Individual pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, and skillset.
