Maven is seeking a Director of Business Intelligence to lead our data-driven decision-making across the organization. In this role, you will oversee a team of analysts who partner with business stakeholders - including Clinical, Product, Payer Operations, and Client Success - to understand their data needs, gather requirements, translate them into actionable analyses, and deliver insights and recommendations that drive impact. You will work closely with Analytics Engineering to ensure scalable, reliable data infrastructure, while championing the strategic use of data across the company.
You will set the vision for Maven’s business intelligence function, ensuring our teams have the insights they need to improve operational efficiency, optimize the member and provider experience, and deliver exceptional results for our clients and partners.
As Director, Business Intelligence at Maven, you will:
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing Business Intelligence team, fostering collaboration, professional development, and analytical excellence.
- Define and drive the strategic direction and long-term vision for Business Intelligence, ensuring initiatives are aligned with overall company goals.
- Partner with stakeholders across Clinical, Product, Payer Operations, Client Success, and other teams to understand their data and analytical needs
- Oversee the end-to-end analysis lifecycle: from requirements gathering, data sourcing, and quality assurance, to analysis, visualization, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with Analytics Engineering to ensure robust, scalable data pipelines and reporting infrastructure that meet evolving business needs.
- Engage and build strong relationships with external vendors, executive stakeholders, and, when appropriate, clients to drive alignment and ensure successful delivery of BI initiatives.
We’re looking for you to bring:
- 10+ years of relevant analytics, business intelligence, or data science experience, including at least 5 years of experience managing and developing teams.
- Proven success partnering with cross-functional business leaders to understand needs and deliver actionable insights.
- Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex analyses into clear, compelling recommendations for diverse audiences.
- Fluency in SQL and expertise with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
- Extensive experience with modern BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) and ability to drive enterprise-wide adoption.
- Proficient in SQL with a deep understanding of data modeling and relational databases.
- Hands-on knowledge of data warehousing solutions and ETL/ELT frameworks.
- Familiarity with cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) and exposure to big data technologies
- Understanding of data governance, data quality, and security best practices.
- Ability to balance long-term strategic priorities with ad hoc, high-urgency requests.
The base salary range for this role is $215,000 - $250,000 per year. You will also be entitled to receive stock options and benefits. Individual pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, and skillset.
