Insights and Analytics are central to the growth of any business today and a high priority area for us at Mattel in EMEA. We are in growth mode. To support this growth, we are seeking a Sr. Market Research Analyst on a temporary basis for 18 months, who will drive strategic insights for Mattel’s Amazon business. The ideal team member will have experience mining large datasets, creating impactful reporting, and translating complex data into actionable strategies that optimize performance.

What Your Impact Will Be: 

  • Own, mine and analyze large datasets that drive actionable insight into the EMEA Amazon sales and marketing organization, to stimulate sales growth.
  • Contextualize Mattel performance to inform and challenge key stakeholders. This will require regular reporting, through automated tools, but you will need to surface movements with recommendations on actions. This could involve insight related to category opportunities, pricing, ranging, promotional mechanics, media performance and awareness of the competitive environment.
  • Lead relations with Profitero (amazon sales & share supplier) and connect dataset weekly creating ad hoc automated reports. Analyze industry trends and competition and propose plans to win market share.
  • Lead Amazon marketing cloud insights in collaboration with digital media team to transform insights into actions that influences amazon plans (path to purchase, life time value, reach per category, audience insights…)
  • Drive insights from Vendor Central analytics: shopper trends, search frequency ranking, basket analysis, new launches and share across EMEA markets to anticipate trends, maximise opportunities…
  • Collaborate with e-com capabilities team to connect POS insights with share of shelf data from data seekers
  • You will need to be confident in presenting your insights and views to wide groups of stakeholders both internal, and external at all levels of seniority.
  • Transform data into insights: extract, clean, and analyze large datasets from Profitero, Amazon Marketing Cloud, and Amazon Vendor Central to reveal trends, consumer behaviors, and performance drivers for Mattel’s business
  • Tell a compelling story: Synthesize findings and present them in clear, meaningful ways through visual dashboards, reporting, and presentations tailored to different internal audiences
  • Optimize performance: identify opportunities to enhance Mattel’s market position and effectiveness based on in-depth analysis
  • Drive Collaboration: Partner cross-functionally with marketing, e-commerce, and sales teams to implement data-driven qualifications

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For: 

  • At least 4 years of experience in marketing analytics, media analytics, or a related field with a focus on e-commerce and Amazon data, with a minimum of a bachelors degree.
  • Technical skills: Proficiency in data tools (SQL, GBQ), data analysis (Excel, Tableau, Python, R).
  • Experience in Tableau editor and dashboarding design
  • Strong proficiency in full Microsoft suite of products. Strong Excel skills are essential.
  • Amazon knowledge: familiarity with Profitero, AMC, and AVC is highly preferred
  • Communication: strong written and spoken English is essential with the ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Committed & driven to high levels of performance.
  • Analytical mindset: strong ability to interpret complex data and translate it to meaningful insights
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and confidence to recommend innovative solutions and actions.
  • Strong organizational skills / ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization.
