The Opportunity: 

Mattel is currently seeking a full-time Sr Financial Associate for the US Sales Finance team in El Segundo, CA. This role is a key member of the customer business team, demonstrating ownership of the business as well as managing all financial aspects of Mattel’s relationship with the nation’s largest retailers. The position reports into a Sr. Manager, Sales Finance.

What Your Impact Will Be: 

  • Process and manage customer deductions by validating claims and ensuring proof of performance is sufficient
  • Research audit claims for validity
  • Ensure customer deduction issues are reconciled and solved timely
  • Work closely with the Sales team to coordinate support on deductions and resolve customer issues.
  • Maintain positive relationships with top customers and effectively communicate with them to resolve any discrepancies or disputes.
  • Work cross functionally with Sales Directors, FP&A, Accounting, Controller’s office, and Marketing
  • Work to reduce aged AR and ensure timely repayments from customers.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX controls and maintain accurate records for internal and external auditors
  • Maintain the Trade Promotion Management system to ensure accurate tracking and analysis of promotions and deductions.
  • Process the year-end accrual and reconcile accounts to ensure accurate financial statements

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • BA/BS (Finance/Accounting preferred) or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years work experience, preferably in a fast-moving consumer goods company & commercial experience
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel proficiency a plus)
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload
  • High degree of initiative, drive, confidence, and resilience – ability to develop the team against a multi-year agenda
  • Flexible and teamwork oriented


The base hourly rate for this position is between $43.46 and $50.00 per hour 
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however base hourly rate will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience. Mattel offers competitive total pay programs, comprehensive benefits, and resources to help empower a culture where every employee can reach their full potential.
