What Your Impact Will Be:
As a Project Quality Engineer for Licensing, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring quality and compliance on the branded toys and consumer products sold by licensees throughout LATAM. You will be accountable for:

- Evaluating product concepts to determine appropriate requirements and oversight.
- Working with licensees and 3rd party laboratories to conduct safety evaluations and provide product specifications to ensure product expectations and requirements are understood and met.
- Working with licensees to develop alternative designs where necessary to meet specification and/or safety requirements.
- Reviewing and approve test results from licensees and 3rd party laboratories.
- Auditing licensees to verify compliance with regulatory requirements, Mattel requirements, and Mattel procedures.
- Maintaining awareness and knowledge of local, international and voluntary regulations, standards and proposals for product safety.
- Assisting licensees in monitoring and controlling crucial processes for components critical to safety of the product.
- Traveling (local and international) as needed to licensees, manufacturing facilities and Mattel offices to support training and product approval process
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering related field or equivalent.
- 5+ years experience in similar role.
- Fluent in Portuguese, English, and Spanish
- High standard of ethics and personal accountability.
- Knowledgeable in quality assurance and defect prevention.
- Knowledgeable in regulatory and industry standards, ideally for toys and children’s products worldwide, with an emphasis on Mercosur countries.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with people at all levels.
- Ability to perform in a multi-functional team environment.
- Ability to identify problems, suggest viable solutions and make decisions within the scope of responsibility.
- Sound technical and analytical skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
