The Opportunity:
Mattel, Inc., the largest toy company in the world, is seeking a National Account Sales Manager to drive revenue and profitability by selling the most iconic toy brands in the industry to top retailers in the US.

The National Account Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and executing our Strategic Account Plans for the Mattel, Mega, and Fisher Price businesses. The role will require a deep understanding of the retail environment and how to align our portfolio of products with the account needs. A successful candidate will be hungry for growth, someone who challenges the status quo, and works strategically and collaboratively with internal and external business partners to achieve both Mattel and customer goals.
This position will be field-based and will require periodic travel to the accounts and corporate headquarters.
What Your Impact Will Be:
- Achieve targeted sales objectives consistent with the annual business plan
- Prioritize initiatives and secure and allocate resources accordingly. Develop specific action plans with goals, timing and accountabilities.
- Lead the internal strategic planning and activation for your brands at the account
- Gain market share across accounts by leveraging data insights
- Attend and present at toy shows & previews and be knowledgeable of new product lines
- Identify business opportunities with account(s) and work with internal partners to create customized plans to drive results
- Conduct weekly buyer meetings and periodic Business Reviews to refine inventory forecasts and promotional planning
- Collaborate with US and Global Marketing, Omnichannel Retail Marketing, Demand Planning and Finance teams to ensure strong retail execution
- Create monthly forecasts and ensure compliance with OTB plan
- Manage and track trade spend to plan promotional activations at account to drive sales
- Provide visibility and updates to leadership on risks, opportunities, and key performance indicators.
- Build strong relationships with account(s) buyers and internal partners
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven track record of success in CPG or similar environment
- Effective selling & communication skills coupled with confidence
- Goal oriented, resilient, and able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Analytical horsepower with ability to use data to drive business decisions/recommendations
- Function as One Team to deliver results
- Ability to exert personal influence, build relationships with account(s), and collaborate effectively with functional teams and other key internal / external stakeholders
- Ability to make consistently sound judgments especially while working under pressure
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and process discipline
- Minimum 8 years’ (6 with MBA) related sales experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods, toys, entertainment or mass-market retailer
- Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Qualifications:
- Trade Marketing experience, including category management, site merchandising, and promotional planning
- Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.
The annual base salary range for this position is between $108,000 and $165,000.
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
