The Opportunity: 

The Software Asset Manager (SAM) is responsible for overseeing the organization's software licenses and ensuring compliance with vendor agreements. This role plays a critical part in optimizing software utilization and minimizing costs.

What Your Impact Will Be: 

  • Manage the Software Asset Management (SAM) tool – Flexera & Productiv, keeping track of software inventory, licenses, and user assignments.
  • Process software requests from employees, ensuring proper license allocation and approval workflows are followed.
  • Maintain software license compliance by auditing usage and verifying adherence to vendor agreements. This helps prevent legal ramifications and financial penalties.
  • Stay updated on the latest software licensing models and industry regulations to proactively manage risks.
  • Collaborate with IT departments to ensure efficient software deployment, updates, and removals.
  • Generate reports and document software asset data to maintain transparency and facilitate informed decision-making.
  • May also involve training employees on proper software usage and licensing policies.
  • Dealing with software audits by vendors
  • Implementing processes to streamline SAM related activities and increase efficiency

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (IT), Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience: 8+ years IT and technology, including a minimum of 3 years IT leadership experience in similar areas of responsibility and roles, comparably sized company
  • Experience: 3+ years IT software asset management. Must understand contractual, commercial, and operational working relationships with vendors
  • Strong understanding of software licensing models and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of product use rights for major publishers such as Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, IBM
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in software asset management tools (Flexera & Productiv preferred)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various departments and vendors
  • Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves. 

The annual base salary range for this position is between $112,000 and $170,000
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
