Job Description
The Opportunity:
Mattel is currently seeking a Manager of Technology - Global Supply Chain. This position will be responsible for a portfolio of applications and projects, and will drive the digital transformation of the Mattel Global Supply Chain (GSC) in collaboration with business stakeholders. This role will be focused in cross-functional supply chain domains such as quality, safety, regulatory and compliance, and sustainability to help ensure that Mattel meets all requirements to sell our products in global markets.

This role will manage project managers, business analysts, and technical resources within Mattel, our service providers, and our software providers. The Manager will need to partner with the business on process harmonization and requirements, with the architects on solution alignment and with our developers to deliver capabilities that are aligned with our business strategy and goals.
This position will report direct to Mattel’s Key Senior Manager IT in the Global Technology Organization (GTO) Global Supply Chain team. This role is expected to work independently to manage the assigned portfolio with required guidance and support. The role is expected to grow in portfolio oversight, starting with projects and applications in the Sustainability domain and building in responsibilities.
What Your Impact Will Be:
Business Continuity
Ensure continuity of technology within the portfolio
- Ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of systems and system integrations across a combination of legacy systems and modern SaaS applications, and Google Cloud Platform/Google Big Query data lake and reporting tools.
- Guide the intake, prioritization, and deployment of required enhancements.
- Engage in rigorous root cause analysis, problem solving, and mitigation of people, process, and technology issues.
Drive system & process alignment and transformation within the portfolio
- Identify, vet, review with leadership, and implement process and technology improvements.
- Ensure system processes work in a manner that adheres to customer requirements.
- Ensure proper process and documentation requirements are being followed.
- Shepherd business-managed IT systems and processes into management by GTO
Support global teams as primary point of contact
- Identify and address all IT issues as primary point of contact
- Optimize infrastructure, hardware, software and processes, in close partnership with the GSC business teams and global IT teams.
New Capability Deployment
- Primary conduit between business leadership and personnel in technology modernization initiatives across all phases of the project lifecycle (analysis, design, build, test, deploy)
- Responsible for working with the business team to gather detailed requirements and processes.
- Apply leading practices to requirements and processes and facilitating the development of to-be processes to be deployed on the modernized SaaS or similar platforms which effectively support Mattel’s operations.
- Management of vendor and consultant teams to maximize effectiveness in delivery of new technology projects
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information systems or a related field.
- 5+ years related experience in Technology/Operations serving end customers.
- Training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking mindset.
- Expert leadership skills; prior management experience in fast paced technology implementations
- Able to manage a team of employees, contractors, and consultants to drive outcomes.
- Comfortable working in a matrixed organization to drive outcomes.
- Expert program management skills including the ability to effectively integrate and manage competing resources
- Comfortable presenting to business stakeholders on a regular basis.
- Expert relationship management/networking skills.
- Expert verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated expertise with negotiating conflicts, contracts.
- Must have significant working knowledge in the global supply chain, with a preference for quality management or sustainability reporting experience.
- Expert understanding of various modern technology platforms that support the global supply chain
- Experience with legacy as well as modern systems
- Analytical and reporting skills such as creating dashboards and establishing KPIs. Experience with PowerBI, Cognos, Tableau, and Google Data Lake/AWS is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with deploying operating systems, applications, patch management and desired configurations
- Implementation experience in the following will be advantageous: Veeva QualityOne or RegulatoryOne, Oracle ERP, legacy systems, application rationalization/modernization
The annual base salary range for this position is between $145,000 and $178,000.
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
