Job Description

SUMMARY

Custodians are responsible for performing custodial duties and other miscellaneous duties in order to ensure that and facilities are maintained in a healthy, safe and sanitary manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations. This list is not all inclusive.

• Ability to work with little supervision.
• Clean breakrooms- clean tables and chairs, microwaves, counter tops, refrigerator doors, fixtures; sweep and mop floors; discard any open containers; clean up spills; empty waste baskets and trash cans
• Clean restrooms- wash and disinfect floors, toilets, toilet seats, partitions, hand dryers, counters, basins, fixtures, and mirrors; replenish toilet seat covers, toilet tissue, and soap; empty waste baskets and trash cans.
• Clean office areas- vacuum carpets, empty trash bins, clean fixtures, dust as needed
• Clean entry ways- sweep or vacuum entry ways, clean rails and fixtures, clean windows and glass doors, wash cement as needed
• Clean Warehouse- empty trash bins, clean spills, assist with other warehouse cleaning upon request
• Replace 5-gallon containers on water dispensers
• Ensure an adequate inventory of cleaning materials and supplies
• Assist with set up and clean-up of on-site events.
• Ensures cleaning materials and supplies are stored, used, and handled in a safe and orderly manner
• Inform supervisor if maintenance equipment needs to be repaired or replaced
• Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• One or more year of experience
• Complete and pass required training

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Able to read, write, and communicate in English
• Ability to read chemical labels and warning labels
• Able to understand and follow written and oral direction
• Able to perform basic math skills such as add, subtract, multiply, and divide
• Able to make sound decisions and judgments concerning vehicle operation and safety
• Able to work independently and with others, at a fast pace

EQUIPMENT

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to utilize the following equipment in a safe and satisfactory manner with or without reasonable accommodations.

• Standard custodial equipment
• Operation of compactor
• Hand tools
• Two-way Radio/ Walkie-Talkie
