Job Description

The Opportunity: 

  • We are looking for a Licensing Coordinator to join our licensing/brand franchise team at our global HQ in El Segundo, California.
  • This role reports to a Manager/Senior Manager, Consumer Products Licensing for the US and will support other team members across the licensing team.
  • We are a fast paced, fact based, creative team and we are looking for someone who thrives in this type of environment.

What Your Impact Will Be: 

  • Support the team to cultivate and lead profitable long-term partnerships with licensees and collaborators to ensure Mattel is a top licensor of choice by partners
  • Assist the Licensing team with the collection and maintenance of reporting and product sample organization and collection, and tracking product submissions
  • Partner with finance, legal and commercial teams on licensing deal term entry and collecting feedback on partner contracts, respectively.
  • Build a solid working partnership with Franchise, Retail, and Commercial teams within the NA region to assist in driving demand creation
  • Assist in contract execution and liaison between the US and other regions
  • Create customized pitches for new partners, utilizing global franchise pitch materials
  • Manage forecast updates and collecting updates from partners 4x per year
  • New licensee onboarding and ensure partners are setup properly in our systems
  • Coordinate and manage execution of internal and external meetings and events such as Licensing Summits, Retailer Needs, and various industry tradeshows
  • Coordinate and execute product and brand presentations, collating sell sheets, and updated Licensee lists.
  • Lead special projects for the licensing team as assigned.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For: 

  • College education required, bachelor’s degree in marketing, entertainment, merchandising, or business is a plus
  • This role requires someone who can multi-task, eager to learn, and supports the team by managing day to day tasks inclusive of but not limited to: organizing product samples, data entry, and licensing operations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Good planning and analytical abilities
  • Action orientated, ambitious professional with demonstrable business acumen
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Power Point, presentation building, and Microsoft products
  • Great collaborator
