Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic professional to drive the growth of the Publishing business within the Franchise - Consumer Products division at Mattel EMEA. This role focuses on expanding publishing opportunities across our iconic brands, including Barbie, Hot Wheels, Fisher-Price, Fireman Sam, and others. The position plays a key role in shaping the EMEA Publishing business strategy, with direct responsibility for managing publishing partnerships in Spain, Italy, and France. Key responsibilities include identifying and pitching to licensees, leading contract negotiations, and overseeing the full lifecycle of product development through to regional marketing activation.

Key Responsibilities:
As a member of the Mattel EMEA Franchise Consumer Products team, we are seeking a Publishing Associate Manager to support and drive our regional publishing business. Reporting to the Head of Publishing EMEA, this role offers a fast-paced, hands-on, and dynamic environment—perfect for someone eager to make a real impact across our exciting portfolio of brands.
What Your Impact Will Be:
Direct responsibility of Publishing Business in Iberia, France and Italy
Assist writing EMEA Publishing strategy across all formats (magazines, partworks, books, audio books, digital books) for all Mattel brands within Iberia, France and Italy
Implementation of Mattel Press catalogue within the countries of responsibility
Drives pitches, negotiations till contract execution, supervision of creative development in conjunction with US creative, while marketing execution is driven locally by Franchise teams
Support the Publishing team managing and coordinating Mattel presence at Bologna Book fair
Closely collaborate with EMEA CP teams (regional and local) with the objective to ensure proper local activation of the licensee
Partner with regional CP/Franchise team and Marketing team to define the support and communication strategy of Publishing licensees. Associate will liaise with multiple stakeholders from multiple markets
Track results of key high revenue projects and shares best practices across the team
Work with brand social media teams on CP amplifications
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For:
BA/BS (4-Year College/University Degree)
4 years of working experience in Publishing/Fashion/Beauty/Toy/Entertainment companies
MUST have interest in kids’ content
Business acumen with raffinate sensitivity
Excellent interpersonal, diplomatic and communication skills, both written and verbal
European Cultural awareness
Capacity to identify priorities
Digitally savvy
Knowledge and genuine interest in the media/entertainment sector
Team Player
Excellent organizational skills with an ability to multi-task under pressure
Ability to be proactive
Self-starter and ability to work independently
Fluent in English language
French, Spanish and Italian languages in addition to English are more than welcome
