Title and Summary

VP, Senior Economist

We are looking for a Vice President, Senior Economist who will focus on creating custom, interactive and actionable insights. This individual will report to the Chief Economist in AP and have the following responsibilities:

- Developing and maintaining macroeconomic views for AP
- Writing regular outlooks & blog-style research notes
- Brief Mastercard leadership and regional advisory boards
- Creating content and presenting insights as a representative of Mastercard in customer forums and industry events
- Developing thought leadership for the region to better explore data and economic relationships
- Collaborating with the data scientists/quantitative economists to create interactive and tailored presentations
- Working with the data scientists to explore alternative data sets, modeling and forecasting to push the boundaries in more traditional economics

All About You

- Strong economist with an entrepreneurial mindset and preferably with at least 15 years of experience in economics
- Evidence of both orthodox and experimental approaches in economic thinking, interpretation or application
- Managing complex projects and timelines effectively, serving as a strong collaborator
- Must have good knowledge of econometrics and familiarity with analytical tools for big data exploration
- Openness to new ideas, approaches, challenges and environments
- Extensive experience presenting to senior stakeholders and public speaking
- Good to have Mandarin capabilities for management of projects encompassing Greater China regions
