Overview:

Join our dynamic team in ONE (Operations, Network, and Employee) as we drive a transformational era of operational resiliency and supplier management. We're seeking talented individuals to join our newly formed team dedicated to driving operational resilience across the organization. As a member of our team, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the operational resiliency of Mastercard critical services, collaborating with infrastructure teams, engineers, BizOps, A&T and other stakeholders in Product and Region to deliver exceptional results.

Role:
As the Vice President, Operational Resilience Governance and Strategy Team Lead, you will develop and drive the company wide operational resilience strategy and governance. Building upon our existing first edition of the operational resilience standard, this critical role will be responsible for leading its updates and maintenance, creating a robust governance model to ensure compliance, leading the development and execution of our OR strategy, and building a high-performing team to support these efforts across the organization. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of operational resilience principles, and the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the company.
Responsibilities:
Operational Resilience Standard Update and Maintenance:
• Lead the effort to review, update, and maintain the company's existing operational resilience standard, ensuring it continues to align with evolving regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and the company's risk appetite.
• Refine and enhance existing guidelines and expectations for operational resilience across all business lines and functions.
• Communicate and educate stakeholders on updates to the operational resilience standard and its requirements.
Governance Model Development and Implementation:
• Design and implement a comprehensive governance model to ensure adherence to the updated operational resilience standard.
• Keep refining roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities for operational resilience across the organization.
• Establish and optimize processes for monitoring, reporting, and escalating operational resilience risks and issues.
• Develop and maintain relevant policies, procedures, and frameworks to support the governance model.
Operational Resilience Strategy Leadership:
• Lead the development, refinement, and execution of the company's operational resilience strategy, aligned with business objectives and risk management frameworks.
• Identify and assess potential operational disruptions and develop advanced strategies to prevent, mitigate, and recover from them.
• Collaborate with business units and technology teams to further integrate operational resilience considerations into their processes and systems.
• Continuously monitor emerging threats, industry trends, and regulatory changes related to operational resilience and adapt the strategy accordingly.
Team Building and Leadership:
• Build and lead a high-performing, enterprise-wide operational resilience team.
• Define team structure, roles, and responsibilities to support the evolving OR program.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop team members, leveraging their skills and knowledge to enhance the program.
• Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment focused on continuous improvement.
• Manage team performance, provide regular feedback, and support professional growth.
Stakeholder Management and Collaboration:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, including senior management, product leadership teams, technology teams, risk management, and compliance.
• Effectively communicate the operational resilience strategy and progress on updates and implementation to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure ongoing buy-in and alignment on operational resilience initiatives.
Reporting and Monitoring:
• Enhance and implement key risk indicators (KRIs) and metrics to monitor the effectiveness of the operational resilience framework and the updated standard.
• Prepare regular and insightful reports on the state of operational resilience for senior management and relevant committees, highlighting progress against the updated standard.
• Analyze trends and identify areas for improvement based on monitoring and reporting, recommending enhancements to the standard and governance model.
About You:
• + 5 years of progressive experience in operational resilience, business operations, technical recovery, or a related field within a complex organization, with specific experience in developing and maintaining operational resilience standards.
• Demonstrated experience in updating and implementing operational resilience standards and enhancing governance frameworks.
• Proven ability to lead the development and execution of strategic initiatives and drive adoption of new standards.
• Strong understanding of relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to operational resilience
• Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with experience in managing and developing high-performing teams in a standardization or governance context.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels on matters related to standards and governance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply standards effectively.
• Experience leading the update or implementation of (operational) resilience standards within a large organization.
• Experience in payment or financial institutional industry
• Knowledge of IT resilience and cybersecurity principles in the context of operational resilience standards.

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
