Specialist, Legal Services - Paralegal (4 - month Contract)

We are seeking a highly organized Paralegal with a strong background in payments, fintech, or financial services to support our legal and compliance teams. This role is perfect for someone who can navigate complex regulations, manage fast-moving commercial agreements, and thrive in a rapidly evolving industry.
Key Responsibilities
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including merchant services agreements, vendor contracts, and partnership deals.
• Conduct legal research on payments regulations, card network rules, AML/KYC obligations, and data privacy laws.
• Maintain corporate records and assist with regulatory filings or license applications.
• Monitor regulatory changes affecting payments and fintech operations in relevant jurisdictions.
• Manage and organize legal files, contract databases, and compliance documentation.
• Coordinate with external counsel, regulators, and internal business units to ensure alignment on legal and regulatory issues.
• Assist in preparing board materials, policies, entity management materials and training materials on legal/compliance topics.
Qualifications
Required:
• Associate's or Bachelor's law degree, or equivalent paralegal experience.
• Paralegal certification (or ability to obtain within [X] months).
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a paralegal
• Strong legal research skills and familiarity with relevant laws and regulations.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and contract management tools.
Preferred:
• Experience with multi-jurisdictional compliance.
• Knowledge of data protection regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and cybersecurity standards.
• Previous in-house legal experience at a payments or fintech company or in banking and finance at a law firm.
Language Skills
Native or fluent proficiency in English (spoken and written) required. Additional knowledge of Arabic and/or French would be of great value.
