Software Engineer II

Overview
Customer Data Management is a team of high performing, co-located individuals representing different functional roles with all the necessary skills to create enterprise capabilities for Customer Data.
Responsible for the analysis, design, development and delivery of software solutions
Develops requirements for new applications and customizations, adhering to standards, processes and best practices

Job Details:
Documentation: Assisting in the creation of user guides and software development guides for less-complex projects.
Development Support: Helping senior team members in developing web applications, system-to-system interfaces, and complete software solutions.
Code Development: Engaging in significant code development and providing day-to-day support.
Adaptability: Working in a fast-paced environment, being adaptive to change, and possessing the leadership to challenge the status quo.
Innovation: Being an innovator and enjoying the challenge of building sophisticated solutions to solve global business problems.

Role:
Systems Development Life Cycle: Supporting the full systems development life cycle for the enterprise information management services team.
Research and Evaluation: Researching and evaluating current and upcoming technologies and frameworks, bringing innovative ideas to the team, and facilitating ideation with team members at various levels.
Proof of Concept: Supporting senior technical team in PoCs and helping with the selection of vendor solutions, technologies, methodologies, and frameworks. Collaborating with vendor resources for product support.
Quality Assurance: Following and promoting Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes in the department. Actively seeking opportunities to enhance standards and improve process efficiency. Ensuring adequate test coverage in Unit Testing, System Testing/Integration Testing, and Performance Testing.
Compliance: Supporting senior technical team with Quality Inspections and Walkthroughs throughout the SDLC, including Requirements Review, Design Review, Code Review, and Security Review to ensure compliance with MasterCard standards.
Collaboration: Partnering with a globally distributed team to collaborate on day-to-day activities.
Required Skill Sets:
Experience: 2+ years of engineering experience in agile production environments.
Java: Proficiency in Java programming language, including experience with Java SE and Java EE.
Spring Framework: Experience with Spring Framework, including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, and Spring Security.
APIs: Knowledge of designing and developing RESTful APIs using Spring and other frameworks.
Database Technologies: Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
Version Control: Experience with version control systems like Git.
Testing: Knowledge of testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
Build Tools: Familiarity with build tools like Maven or Gradle.
Cloud Services: Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus.
DevOps: Understanding of DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines.
