Senior Data Scientist & Analytics

Overview:
Mastercard's Data & Services team is looking for a Senior Data Scientist & Analytics work in the development and implementation of advanced analytics models and algorithms to extract actionable insights from large and complex datasets, with a focus on optimizing business performance and driving strategic initiatives.

The D&S team is a key differentiator for Mastercard, providing the cutting-edge services that help our customers grow. Focused on thinking big and scaling fast around the globe, this agile team is responsible for end-to-end solutions for a diverse global customer base. Centered on data-driven technologies and innovation, these services include payments-focused consulting, loyalty and marketing programs, business Test & Learn experimentation, and data-driven information and risk management services. Client verticals include Financial Institutions, Retail & Commerce and Digital Partners, Governments, and many others.

Role:
• Create prototypes for new ideas/offerings and constantly improve existing products.
• Analyze and synthesize data sets both from within Mastercard and beyond to bring powerful insights to clients.
• Design and build predictive models and machine learning algorithms to address a wide range of business challenges, including fraud detection, credit risk assessment, customer segmentation, and personalized marketing.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover hidden patterns, trends, and correlations in data, and translate findings into actionable recommendations for business stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and business development, to integrate data-driven insights and models into Mastercard's products and services, driving innovation and value creation.
• Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of data and analytical models through rigorous quality assurance processes, and adhere to industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor junior members of the data science team and providing guidance on best practices in data analysis, modeling, and interpretation.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence technologies, and evaluate their potential applications to enhance Mastercard's analytics capabilities and product offerings.

All About You:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Advanced Analytics, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Experience in data science, data analytics, data mining, or a related field, with a proven track record of delivering impactful insights and solutions in a corporate or research environment.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis, predictive modeling, machine learning, and data mining techniques.
• Strong SQL skills to investigate large datasets and turn complex data into actionable insights.
• Experience with Python and/or R for data analysis and modeling.
• Experience working with credit card data is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to formulate hypotheses, design experiments, and interpret results to drive data-driven decision-making.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working with large-scale datasets and cloud-based analytics platforms, is preferred.
