Overview

Mastercard Payment Gateway Service (MPGS) is on the lookout for a passionate and experienced and dynamic Lead Full Stack Software Engineer (Front-End Heavy) to lead the development of user-centric, performant, and scalable applications. The role emphasizes expertise in modern frontend technologies such as Angular and React while maintaining strong backend proficiency with Java/J2EE and Spring.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Front-End Development
• Lead the development of dynamic, responsive, and intuitive user interfaces using Angular and React.
• Ensure front-end applications are optimized for performance, accessibility, and scalability.
• Implement reusable components, state management solutions, and design system integrations.
2. Back-End Development
• Design and develop backend services using Java/J2EE, Spring, and JPA.
• Integrate front-end applications with backend APIs and services.
• Manage and optimize interactions with RDBMS.
3. Cloud and Infrastructure
• Design and deploy applications on cloud platforms.
• Leverage cloud-native tools to enhance system scalability, reliability, and security.
4. Agile Practices
• Actively participate in agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, stand-ups) to ensure timely delivery of features.
• Adapt and contribute to iterative delivery cycles to ensure rapid and quality-focused releases.
5. CI/CD and DevOps:
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
• Drive the adoption of DevOps best practices to improve development efficiency.
5. Team Leadership and Mentorship
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, guiding them in best practices, architectural decisions, and efficient coding techniques.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including Product, UX, and QA teams, to align technical execution with business goals.
6. UI Performance Optimization (Good to Have)
• Conduct performance tuning and UI optimizations to deliver fast-loading and responsive web applications.
• Use tools like Lighthouse, or Chrome DevTools to identify and resolve bottlenecks.

Must-Have Skills:

• Frontend Expertise: Proficiency in Angular and React, with a strong focus on modern front-end best practices.
• Backend Technologies: Solid experience with Java/J2EE, Spring and JPA.
• Database Management: Strong knowledge of RDBMS.
• Cloud: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms.
• CI/CD: Expertise in tools like Jenkins for continuous integration and delivery.
• Agile Practices: Deep understanding of agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).

Good-to-Have Skills:
• UI Performance Engineering: Experience with performance monitoring and optimization tools like Lighthouse or Chrome DevTools.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8+ years of experience in full-stack development with a focus on front-end-heavy applications.
• Proven experience in leading teams and delivering high-quality, scalable solutions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for creating exceptional user experiences.
