Receiving/Mill Operator

Job Description:

The Processing Mill Operator provides Mars Petcare with the knowledge and skills to effectively and safely Batch/mix raw materials to high-quality product; and efficiently receive, test, analyze, and process raw ingredients.

What are we looking for?

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent plus 1-2 years experience (manufacturing environment preferred)

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability and willingness to develop and manage self, demonstrate self-directed workgroup leadership, and contribute to efficiency, quality, and cost optimization with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to operate forklifts in a safe manner.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts under stressful conditions such as heat, cold, high and/or confined spaces and have full mobility with ability to climb ladders and stairs.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Sampling of all incoming raw materials
  • Visually inspect incoming commodities and take appropriate action on issues such as infestation, pests, mold, or any other quality issue
  • Perform required quality testing
  • FOSS Analyzer and lab equipment operation
  • Receiving and Quality systems database interfacing
  • Ensure adherence to all site food safety and security practices
  • Actively address food safety and quality concerns.
  • Unloading of all incoming raw materials
  • Major bin strategy coordination
  • Hardstock grinder management
  • Batching System Operation
  • Meet cut-off and tonnes requirements
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment that promotes associate safety and product integrity
  • Improve operations through individual and group problem solving
  • Actively address food safety and quality concerns
  • Other duties as assigned
