Engineer Chocolate Process - Elizabethtown, PA

Job Description:

A Process Engineer is responsible for leading the conceptualization, development, design, and validation of new manufacturing processes, serving as global technical subject matter expert, and providing technical guidance (both tactical and strategic) to deliver results against chocolate strategy.

Individuals are expected to innovate in Global Chocolate Technology programs and will be responsible for building new capabilities, testing plans, and reporting on results for these programs from idea to factory validation within the chocolate making area.

Minimum Requirements

  • B.S degree in Food, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical or science related technical field
  • 2+ years in relevant food, food ingredients, or related industry
  • An advanced understanding of the key scientific aspects associated with food systems and ingredient/process interaction is critical.
  • A general knowledge of food science and chemistry and in-depth knowledge of specific job field.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Identifies new solutions for the chocolate process platforms across development opportunities by contributing to innovation and macro outlooks.
  • Brings strong science and engineering skills to the position and serves as a technical consultant to other team members.
  • Uses scientific research strategies to improve consumer understanding.
  • Applies technical process knowledge to identify new food-related technologies and actively protect and create competitive advantages in the chocolate industry.
  • Works directly with internal teams such as R&D, Supply, and Engineering to deliver innovation and transformative initiatives.
  • Proactively facilitates innovation solutions and ensures the technical feasibility of the projects.
  • Develops experimental plans and executes testing and trials to identify key process equipment parameters and fundamental mechanisms at prototype, pilot, and factory scales.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative cross-functional team.
  • Designs, develops and manages scale-ups of new chocolate, raw material, process, recipe, and specification opportunities that translate to full-scale production and provide competitive advantages to the company.
