Manpower Engineering is partnering with a twin cities medical device start-up focused on a novel transcatheter treatment for heart valve disease that will change the future of treatment for patients across the world. The company is currently hiring a Senior R&D Engineer that will be tasked with designing, prototyping, and evaluating catheters. Additionally, this role will generate and present data-driven decisions regarding catheter performance in a fast-moving environment. The Senior R&D Engineer will be required to work within a cross-functional team to coordinate and execute catheter builds, ensure proper documentation practices are followed, and guarantee compliance with operating procedures is maintained

Job Title: Senior R&D Engineer
Location: Plymouth, MN
Pay Range: $110,000-$125,000
Bonus: 15%
What’s the Job?
- Design, build, test, and iterate prototypes of delivery system catheters, test fixtures and develop test models.
- Participate in brainstorming and troubleshooting activities to address functional challenges of transcatheter valve delivery systems.
- Design, execute, and communicate the results of ad-hoc R&D testing.
- Work with external suppliers, machine shops and fabricators to build R&D prototypes and test equipment.
- Draft and execute design verification and/or validation protocols, document results in reports, and consolidate information for submission to regulatory authorities.
- Coordinate and support the building of catheter prototypes with deep understanding of manufacturing procedures and methods being utilized.
What’s Needed?
- Bachelor’s Degree or greater in engineering focus.
- 3+ years of experience in catheter technology design/development.
- General knowledge of catheter design considerations and manufacturing methods.
- Strong mechanical design skills including prototype development, test method, and test-fixture design and building.
- Experience in all aspects of design iteration loop (design, build, test, iterate).
