A reputable medical device client of ours is seeking a Senior or Principal level Catheter Engineer to join their team on a contract or contract to direct basis to help drive efforts within design, prototyping and process development as it relates to catheter development projects.  Client is looking for someone who a very well versed within the catheter industry.  This role is onsite in Fridley.  Client can offer this as a pure contract OR contract to direct.

Key Responsibilities
 

  • Create technical execution plan and deliverables with the project manager
  • Lead and execute design and development project-related activities within the internal team
  • Lead customer interaction on technical deliverables comfortably and confidently
  • Lead activities for concept generation with strong technical problem-solving skills
  • Mentor engineers on the team to conduct engineering analysis on designs, concepts, and the associated research
  • Lead and monitor documentation practices for requirements, design output, design verification, and testing using client and/or customer’s QMS





Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field required, master’s degree in Engineering or related technical field helpful
  • Minimum of 5 years (Engineer III) or 8 years (Senior Engineer) of relevant work experience required
  • Medical device development experience required including catheter development experience. 
  • Well established knowledge of multiple engineering functional areas (i.e. product development, test, modeling, process, etc.)
  • Anatomical knowledge of the vasculature and clinical knowledge of coronary/ peripheral/ neurological procedures is helpful
  • Independently applies knowledge of the methodology for process/design selection
  • Able to communicate complex technical concepts to broad audiences
