Mechanical Test Engineer

Our client, a global leader in power and engine technologies, is seeking a Mechanical Test Engineer to join their team. As a Mechanical Test Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering and Product Development Department, supporting Validation and Verification Teams. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Mechanical Test Engineer
Location: Stoughton, WI
Pay Range: $30-$35/hr.

What’s the Job?

• Plan, execute, and document verification and validation tests for mechanical systems and components.
• Conduct failure mode effects analysis (FMEA) and apply 7-step problem-solving methods.
• Perform data analysis using MATLAB and other engineering tools to assess system performance.
• Interface with test requestors and collaborate cross-functionally to resolve technical issues.
• Manage test setups, instrumentation, and ensure data quality and process capability.

 

What’s Needed?

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (required).
• 2–4 years of hands-on experience in mechanical testing, validation, and data analysis.
• Proficiency in MATLAB and familiarity with process capability and statistical methods.
• Knowledge of FMEA and structured problem-solving techniques.
• Strong analytical, teamwork, and communication skills; coding background is a bonus.
