We are seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Manager for a client in Boulder, CO. This is a part-time, temp-to-hire position in a food production environment specializing in high-quality Mediterranean food. Our client produces packaged hummus, falafel balls, pita pockets, and other items sold in major and local grocery stores across Colorado and the mountain region.

The QA Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining food safety and quality standards, acting as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, including the FDA, State of Colorado Health Department, FSNS, Organic, and Kosher Certification Bodies. This is an in-person role, requiring presence during food production on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays (6-hour shifts), with flexible hours on Thursdays.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee food safety and quality programs as the facility PCQI and HACCP Coordinator.
- Maintain GMP certification and compliance for FSNS audits.
- Perform daily pre-operational inspections, allergen and gluten testing, equipment calibration, and environmental monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with FDA regulations and food safety legislation.
- Develop and implement Preventive Controls, HACCP Plans, Food Safety and Quality Plans, Policies, SOPs, SSOPs, Training Guides, and Records.
- Serve as the company contact for all food safety-related agencies.
- Communicate across all levels of the organization and stay current on industry trends and best practices.
Qualifications:
- PCQI certification and strong HACCP knowledge.
- 2+ years of experience in a QA role within a food manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of FDA regulations, food safety standards, and GMP compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
