EAM Business Analyst (Maximo) – Hybrid | NY Metro or Philly
Symetri is seeking a driven Business Analyst (Maximo) with a specialized background in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) platforms. This role is critical for conducting deep business analysis, guiding technology implementations, supporting client engagements, and leading user training initiatives.
Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of professional business analysis experience, including documenting current-state workflows, leading requirements sessions, conducting gap analyses, defining future-state processes, and delivering training. They must also have at least 5 years of hands-on functional experience with IBM Maximo, which is a firm requirement and critical to the success of this role.

Note: This role requires regular in-person workshops, trainings, and meetings across NYC, Jersey City, and Philadelphia. Only candidates who live close these locations will be considered due to travel to client sites. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship. Key Responsibilities Include:
• Perform in-depth business analysis to understand not only the client’s processes but also the "why" behind operational workflows, stakeholder involvement, and products in use.
• Gather, document, and analyze business, functional, and technical requirements related to CMMS/EAM systems.
• Map complex business processes and workflows; identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
• Maintain detailed traceability matrices to ensure requirements are linked throughout the project lifecycle.
• Facilitate and lead training sessions for end-users, business stakeholders, and technical teams.
• Conduct stakeholder interviews and workshops to capture detailed requirements and align business and IT goals.
• Support system implementations, enhancements, data migrations, and third-party integrations.
• Prepare high-quality documentation, including business cases, user stories, process diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and contribute to testing strategies and plans.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, development teams, and vendor partners.
• Ensure proper change management practices are followed during rollout and adoption phases.
Requirements:
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of professional business analysis experience, including gathering as-is processes and workflows, leading requirements sessions, performing gap analyses, generating to-be recommendations, creating training documentation, and leading client training sessions.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on and functional experience in IBM Maximo.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience and demonstrated understanding of engineering, maintenance, operations, asset, and work management processes and workflows.
• Hands-on experience with project and collaboration tools such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, Confluence, and related platforms.
• Experience leading training programs and creating comprehensive training materials for various user groups.
• Practical experience using traceability matrices for project tracking and validation.
• Working knowledge of Power BI for reporting and dashboards to support decision-making.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language.
• Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall.
• IIBA Certification preferred or must obtain certification within 6 months.
• Ability to independently and proactively drive business analysis and stakeholder engagement.
Preferred:
• Prior experience with multiple CMMS/EAM system implementations or major upgrades.
• Understanding of system integration across ERP and EAM platforms.
Additional Requirements:
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Must reside within commuting distance of Philadelphia, PA; New York City; or Jersey City, NJ.
• Must be willing to travel up to 30% for onsite workshops, monthly trainings, and in-person meetings.
The salary range for this position is $110,000 to $140,000, depending on experience.
