We are looking for someone who leads by example rather than dictation and knows how to bring out the best in people. Someone not afraid to deal with conflict. Someone that can say "No" but also push for more results The Data Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing and prioritizing data engineering work. This position will collaborate with stakeholders throughout the enterprise on the needs for Data Engineering.

This role will serve as a change leader driving the cloud data strategy by adoption of cloud within Data Engineering and collaborating with teams migrating application and middleware stack to the cloud. Along with leading a team of Data Engineers, this leader will be responsible for collaborating closely with the team to implement data pipelines, data architecture, and cloud migration.

You will Get To

Create and execute on the Data Engineering Strategy for cloud migration. Define and manage roles and responsibilities of Team members. Plan for department's future needs and operations as Lytx technology stack operates on cloud. Assist with recruiting, training, coaching, and developing Team members as well as helping develop strategies for retaining top talent. Conducts regular 1:1's, performance reviews, and guides direct reports in establishing goals consistent with team strategy and the corporate vision. Assists the team with and career development plans and objectives to achieve them. Mentors, coaches, and cross-trains other team members Ensures strong cross-functional collaboration with other teams and maintains rapport with internal and external teams to facilitate proper resolution of the tasks at hand. Manages complex problems and assigned issues. Learn and implement cloud data pipeline technologies and cloud data stores. Create next generation cloud-based solutions for transforming enterprise data solutions. Design, build and transition to modern data pipelines and real time data streams to ingest various structured and un-structured data sources. Design and build Data Interfaces using modern visualization tools, PULL and PUSH Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), and other programming interfaces to share data.

What You will Need
  • 8+ years of experience working hands-on with Data Technologies
  • 5+ years in a technology lead role and / or thought leadership within Data Engineering space.
  • 4+ years in managing high-volume high-throughput Data systems ranging from OLTP to data lake & data warehouse environments.
  • Understanding of cloud data technologies
  • Understanding of different ingest and data processing patterns.
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively when designing the data solutions taking a non-traditional approach where required.
Desired qualifications:
  • AWS Data Engineering technologies
  • Modern streaming data architecture
  • Experience with migrating on prem data technologies to cloud data lake and cloud data warehouse.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems, or equivalent experience
