About the role:
Lumafield is seeking an Accounting Co-op to join our growing finance team. You will play a key role in our business transformation efforts as we scale on a high-growth trajectory and will have the opportunity to work on projects that revamp and modernize the end-to-end accounting and financial reporting cycles. As a member of the finance team, you will work closely to help to drive the success of Lumafield’s internal and external financial reporting, completing the monthly close, assisting in implementing new systems and processes, internal controls, and accounting policies.

This is a fast-paced and dynamic role and will offer exposure to many different areas of accounting and finance. If you are interested in fast tracking your accounting career, gaining first hand experience building an accounting function in a rapidly growing business, while having fun and learning from a team with proven success in building multi-billion dollar digital companies, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

What you'll do:

  • Perform financial operations including, but not limited to, cash, expense management, accounts payable, accounts receivable and tax compliance
  • Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and document process for month end close
  • Support monthly close activities, including revenue and expense
  • Participate in the annual financial statement audit, the annual tax return/provision preparation, and sales tax compliance
  • Assist with accounting projects and identify process improvements to reduce the monthly-close timeline while enhancing the accuracy of underlying accounting records

About you:

  • Junior/Senior/Graduate Student, working towards degree(s) in Accounting and/or Business
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability and desire to work in a fast-paced challenging environment
  • The desire to meet and exceed measurable performance goals
  • A highly self-driven sense of motivation
  • Experience working with Netsuite or with advanced manufacturing companies is a plus
