Your Impact
As a Store Optimization & Planning Intern at Lowe's, you'll work with a team dedicated to enhancing store layouts, operations, and merchandising strategies to ensure a seamless and productive customer experience. You'll gain hands-on experience in data analysis, project coordination, and cross-functional collaboration as you help drive improvements in store formats, adjacencies, and operational flow. Your work will support key business decisions that impact customer satisfaction, associate productivity, and overall store performance across 1,700+ retail locations.

Our 10-week summer internship program (May 26 - July 31, 2026) immerses you in real-world retail operations. You'll work directly with industry experts across our stores, distribution centers, and corporate offices, gaining practical experience through hands-on projects that make meaningful contributions to our business and communities.

What You Will Learn
- How store layouts and merchandise adjacencies influence customer experience and operational efficiency.
- Data-driven approaches to store planning, including analysis of traffic patterns, conversion metrics, and category performance.
- Tools used in store design and optimization (e.g., planogramming and CAD software).
- Collaboration with key stakeholders in Merchandising, Space Planning, and Operations.
- How to present findings and recommendations through compelling storytelling and visualization.
- Techniques for balancing business needs with customer expectations in store environments.
Minimum Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Analytics, Retail Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Expected graduation dates of December 2026 or May 2027.
Preferred Skills/Experience
- 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher.
- Proficient in MS Office Programs (specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Experience in retail, project planning, or operational analysis (academic or professional).
- Familiarity with retail design tools or analytics platforms (e.g., AutoCAD, Tableau, Power BI).
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Passion for optimizing the in-store experience for both customers and associates.
