Your Impact

As a Store Operations Construction & Development Intern, you'll gain exposure to Lowe's nationwide efforts to build, remodel, and maintain a world-class store fleet. Working within the Construction & Development team, you'll assist with project planning, budget tracking, contractor coordination, and cross-functional communication that supports Lowe's growth and reinvestment strategy. Your contributions will directly impact how Lowe's creates exceptional, customer-ready spaces that reflect our commitment to operational excellence and innovation in retail development.

Our 10-week summer internship program (May 26th - July 31st, 2026) immerses you in real-world retail operations. You'll work directly with industry experts across our stores, distribution centers, and corporate offices, gaining practical experience through hands-on projects that make meaningful contributions to our business and communities.

Do Your Best Work in Mooresville

This internship is based at our headquarters in Mooresville, North Carolina. Our corporate office is a space where you can collaborate and do your best work. Take a walk, grab a bite (or a cup of coffee), work out or get a check-up - we invest in you so you can find your inspiration.

What You Will Learn

  • Assist in the planning and execution of new store builds, remodels, and special projects within the Construction & Development team.
  • Help review architectural plans, construction schedules, and project scopes.
  • Support internal tracking systems for budgets, timelines, and project documentation.
  • Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and cross-functional teams to coordinate site progress and store readiness.
  • Learn about permitting, compliance, and Lowe's construction standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying process enhancements and project efficiencies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Expected graduation dates of December 2026 or May 2027.

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with construction drawings, timelines, and terminology.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with project tracking tools is a plus.
  • Experience in a leadership position at work or within a campus organization is a plus.
