Sr Manager, Finance Technology Modernization - ESS

Your Impact

The primary purpose of this role, within Lowe's Finance Technology Modernization (FTM) team, is to serve as the strategic business program manager for sourcing within Lowe's multi-year Procurement Modernization initiative. This role ensures sourcing requirements, AI-enabled capabilities, and data-driven insights are embedded in the modernization roadmap, governance, and execution replacing the Company's legacy Sourcing Capabilities.

This role will lead the Procurement Modernization Roadmap and the business case with change and risk strategy while championing the enterprise vision for procurement modernization. The Sr Manager - FTM ESS position will partner with FTM Workstream Directors, other FTM Functional Lead roles, Run the Business (RTB) ESS leaders, and dedicated Product Management and Technology personnel to complete workstream deliverables. This role will report to the VP of ESS, with dotted line responsibility to the Sr Director of FTM.

What You Will Do

Sourcing Strategy & Real-World Alignment

  • Leverage sourcing execution experience to ground modernization in real-world workflows (RFPs, onboarding, contracts).
  • Validate future-state processes against sourcing realities
  • Partner with category leaders to align roadmap with operational needs.
  • Anticipate and resolve gaps between system design and execution.
  • Translate sourcing strategies into digital, AI, and data-driven initiatives.
  • Seek out retail best practices and challenge the status quo

Program Ownership & Governance

  • Own deliverables including the Procurement Modernization Roadmap, Resource Plan, and Business Case with Change & Risk Strategy (with explicit AI/analytics focus).
  • Lead procurement governance updates (policy clarity between Finance, Legal, Retail).
  • Define sourcing benchmarks and AI-driven value drivers (savings, risk reduction, cycle time, working capital).
  • Design the future-state sourcing operating model and define resource requirements with emphasis on AI and data literacy.

Digital Enablement & Future-State Platforms

  • Define the strategic sourcing capabilities required to support Lowe's future operating model.
  • Influence technology selection and vendor evaluation to ensure alignment with sourcing strategy and value creation goals.
  • Champion the use of GenAI and advanced digital tools to elevate sourcing - from smarter contracts and automated onboarding to data-driven category insights.
  • Partner with IT and Data leaders to ensure sourcing platforms integrate seamlessly into Lowe's enterprise ecosystem, enabling a single source of truth and predictive decision-making.

Data, AI & Analytics Enablement

  • Define key data requirements; partner on design/validation of data hubs.
  • Ensure clean, governed sourcing data feeds into Lowe's analytics and AI engines.
  • Drive adoption of AI and analytics tools within sourcing; ensure team upskilling.
  • Understand data flows, integrity requirements, and integrations.

Stakeholder Engagement & Change Leadership

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Accounting, Finance or related field
  • 5 years' combined experience in industry, consulting, and/or public accounting.
  • Proven experience working cross-functionally with technology, data, and business teams to design or implement end-to-end process and system improvements.
  • 2-4 years' progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement operations, or supply chain management, with a strong understanding of source-to-contract processes.
  • 2 years' experience as a sourcing lead or manager in a public company with indirect sourcing execution experience.

Preferred Skills/Education

  • MBA or technical equivalent
