Sr Dir-Stakeholder Engagement External Partnerships
Your Impact:
As a key member of the External Affairs team, the Senior Director, Stakeholder Engagement will be a key role in shaping, supporting, and executing Lowe's strategy for third-party engagement and reputation management globally, particularly across the United States. Reporting to the Vice President of Stakeholder Engagement & External Partnerships, this role will manage and deepen relationships with NGOs, advocacy groups, coalitions, and policy influencers that represent consumer, investor, and societal interests.
The Senior Director plays a critical role in shaping external narratives in alignment with company priorities. This role will help ensure stakeholder understanding and trust in support of Lowe's business objectives and corporate responsibility commitments, particularly in a dynamic and polarized environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Builds and manages relationships with national, regional, and targeted local third-party organizations, including policy focused non-profit organizations, advocacy groups, NGOs, and think tanks.
• Represents the company in stakeholder meetings, conferences, and coalition forums to build goodwill, promote collaboration, and proactively shape policy dialogue.
• Identifies strategic opportunities to engage with stakeholders who influence policy, brand reputation, and public perception.
• Develops and implements stakeholder engagement plans aligned with company priorities and the overarching external affairs strategy.
• Partners with internal teams (Government Affairs, Legal, Sustainability, Communications, Communications, and others) to ensure alignment and consistent messaging in external engagements.
• Drafts and reviews materials, briefings, and talking points for external engagements and public-facing opportunities.=
• Lead stakeholder mapping and influences strategies for key legislative, regulatory, and reputational priorities.
• Participate in and help manage cross-functional teams that drive advocacy campaigns and engagement efforts across national, state, and local levels.

• Monitors public policy trends and assesses implications for the company, recommending engagement strategies as needed.
• Manages and directs external vendor partners who support relationship development, political intelligence, and coalition engagement.
• Coordinates with trade associations and other industry partners on shared policy goals and advocacy opportunities.
• Serves as a trusted advisor and liaison to internal leaders by providing insight on stakeholder perspectives, risks, and opportunities.
• Helps organize internal working groups and regular updates to track progress on stakeholder initiatives and ensure enterprise-wide visibility.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• 12+ years of work experience in stakeholder engagement, public affairs, government affairs, or related fields - preferably within a large corporation, policy organizations, or public interest group.
• 5+ years of leadership experience with or in state/local government, or leading policy or public affairs work for third-party organizations, (e.g, being a lobbyist or leading campaigns.
• Experience working with or for NGOs, advocacy organizations, or third-party influencers.
• Proven ability to manage external relationships and influence policy outcomes through strategic engagement.
• Familiarity with policy and regulatory environments at the state and federal levels.
• Demonstrated success in project or campaign management, including experience leading cross-functional teams.
• Excellent judgment and impeccable ethics; desire to succeed in a collaborative, demanding, innovative, entrepreneurial environment.
• Exceptional political acumen, thorough understanding of federal and state public policy, and ability to represent Lowe's with all third-party stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Must be able to present complex concepts in a concise and understandable way.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Strong research and writing skills; strategic and creative thinking aptitude.
• Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's Degree MBA or other related is preferred
