Your Impact

The Executive Compensation Consultant plays a key role in supporting the design, development, and execution of executive and equity compensation programs, with a focus on work that directly informs and supports the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors. This role is critical to Lowe's as it provides guidance, direction, and advice on the pay programs that affect officer engagement, retention, and the long-term success of Lowe's. You will work closely with senior leadership, ensuring programs are competitive, compliant, and aligned with company strategy while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism.

What You Will Do

  • Create impactful, board-ready materials for Compensation Committee meetings, including presentations, analytical insights, and formal documentation that adhere to governance best practices and evolving regulatory requirements
  • Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives related to executive rewards, long-term incentive design, and annual compensation management processes, partnering with senior leaders and key stakeholders
  • Manage annual and off-cycle equity award processes for executive officers, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with strategic priorities
  • Partner closely with Legal, Finance, and external consultants to ensure all executive compensation programs are market competitive, aligned with company strategy, and meet evolving regulatory and disclosure requirements
  • Provide training and guidance to officers on executive compensation programs, including equity grant mechanics, incentive pay, and officer-specific programs, ensuring clear understanding and alignment with plan objectives
  • Consult with HR Business Partners and business leaders to design and deliver executive compensation programs and practices that ensure market competitiveness, internal equity, and a strong link between pay and performance
  • Develop governance controls and guidelines relating to compensation structures that ensure consistency, compliance, and data integrity
  • Provide recommendations and creative solutions for complex compensation issues to strategically support the business and maintain shareholder confidence
  • Mentor junior team members by openly sharing information, advice, and expertise to solve business problems

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Psychology, Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, or related field or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years of experience in compensation in a retail corporate environment
  • Experience dealing with confidential information
  • Experience training/mentoring individual team members

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business, Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years of experience working in a compensation environment, with direct exposure to executive compensation programs at a large publicly traded (Fortune 100 preferred) organization
  • Proven experience partnering with C-suite executives, and compensation committee on compensation strategies, including preparation of board-ready materials
  • Demonstrated executive presence with the ability to confidently engage, influence, and present to senior leadership
  • Familiarity with shareholder advisory firm guidelines (e.g., ISS, Glass Lewis) and investor relations considerations related to executive pay
  • Experience managing others in a team environment

Pay Range: $98,200.00 - $164,000.00 annually Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
