What You Will Do
- Promote Responsible Forestry - Engage vendors to ensure compliance with our wood sourcing policies and commitments, drive continuous improvement in sustainable forestry practices and identify opportunities to support reforestation projects.
- Support Product Sustainability Initiatives - Partner with the Merchandising team to expand Lowe's assortment of responsibly sourced, safe, and efficient products that help customers live more sustainably.
- Presentation & Reporting - Prepare and present key findings, insights, and recommendations to the Sustainability Steering Committee, supporting data-driven decision-making and strategic sustainability goals.
- Industry Research & Benchmarking - Monitor sustainability trends, certifications, and best practices to enhance Lowe's product sustainability strategy.
- Customer & Associate Education - Collaborate with merchandising, marketing, and digital teams to enhance customer awareness of sustainable product features while developing educational resources to empower store associates with knowledge of responsibly sourced and efficient products.
- Adaptability & Learning - Staying informed on emerging sustainability trends and regulations.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a retail environment
- 2+ years of experience in sustainability, corporate social responsibility, supply chain, or environmental compliance.
- Knowledge of forestry sustainability certifications (e.g., FSC, SFI, PEFC) and responsible sourcing principles.
- Experience with data analysis, reporting, and sustainability metrics.
