Position Summary
Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Inc. (LCPA) is seeking a strategic and creative Senior Vice President, Brand Marketing to lead storytelling, brand, marketing, and audience development efforts during a transformational moment in its history. Positioned within LCPA, one of Lincoln Center's resident arts organizations and the operational manager of the campus, the leader in this role will get to play a key role in stewarding and extending Lincoln Center's brand as the nation's foremost performing arts center where many of the world's very best artists take stage, captivating audiences year-round.
Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Chief Communications, Marketing and Advocacy Officer, the SVP, Brand Marketing will oversee brand strategy, integrated marketing campaigns, and audience analytics. This role will help lead in redefining how we connect with the public, cultivate new audiences, and deepen relationships with existing patrons and communities. The SVP, Brand Marketing will deliver visibility, coherence, and vitality across all platforms, collaborating closely with the other resident arts organizations on aligned messaging and marketing efforts that present a unified vision of the "Lincoln Center Experience."
This leader and their team will also conceive and execute new marketing strategies for LCPA's flagship "Summer for the City" festival-an annual series of performances, events, and activations that celebrate New York City's cultural vibrancy and leading artists from around the world. With a strong focus on free and choose-what-you-pay programming, the festival is a cornerstone of Lincoln Center's commitment to accessibility and cultural curiosity.
The role will help shape a sense of welcome and invitation to arts-driven exploration, not only for visitors who gather on campus, but also for audiences who connect with Lincoln Center online. Working in close partnership with our technology and digital lead, the SVP, Brand Marketing will co-direct efforts to enhance engagement through digital channels-including a new flagship mobile app-and shape the storytelling framework for Lincoln Center's physical and virtual presence. They will lead efforts to build and nurture community across digital platforms and physical spaces, expanding the organization's reach and deepening its role as a cultural home for all.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Visionary Brand Marketing Strategy
- Imagine and execute a brand strategy that defines the modern "Lincoln Center Experience," and drives connectivity and growth in audience development and engagement; donor, patron and member value alignment; community relations; and cross-campus strategy
- Generate bold ideas and innovative campaigns, partnerships, activations, and memorable experiences that build awareness and affinity for Lincoln Center performances, programs and convenings
- Align promotional campaigns with organic social media strategy and storytelling around artist and performance highlights, and real-time audience experience
Drive Data-informed Outcomes and Opportunity Creation
- Strengthen brand equity and perception by analyzing, translating and leveraging audience and visitor data, including performance-goer insights, market research, and competitive intelligence for enhanced positioning and engagement strategies
- Build on ticketing innovations (e.g., free and Choose What You Pay) to drive audience development, utilizing analytics, segmentation, and predictive modeling to optimize the performance-goer journey
- Expand LCPA's audience base through comprehensive, research-backed engagement strategies that foster patron loyalty and broaden accessibility
- Develop standardized internal metrics to evaluate progress and impact
Establish Growth-oriented Coalitions across Key Stakeholder Groups
- Advance the collaborative development of a shared blueprint for audience and visitor experience across Lincoln Center
- Partner with Artistic Programming and Education teams on forward-looking performance marketing strategies
- Support organizational revenue, product innovation and stewardship goals through proactive partnering with Advancement and Venue Sales teams
- Build consensus among internal departments and partners, blending boldness, creativity, feasibility, and collaboration to achieve strategic priorities
Collaborate on Digital Transformation
- Oversee the build-out of varied techniques for storytelling that amplify and expand the geographic reach of Lincoln Center's cultural influence
- Support technology and digital leadership priorities for creating an ecosystem that optimizes website functionality, ticketing platforms, content distribution, cybersecurity, and user experience
Develop and Lead a Strong Brand and Marketing Organization
- Ensure strategy, structure and allocation of department resources (e.g., talent, attention and budget planning) align with LCPA's artistic direction and priorities
- Inspire, enable and manage a high-performing team of marketing and design professionals
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in progressively senior brand strategy and creative marketing roles, ideally in live performance arts/culture, entertainment, technology, consumer/lifestyle or creative sectors
- Demonstrable track record of delivering successful outcomes for audience/consumer development and engagement and enabling revenue generation
- Proven experience leading high-impact teams and strategies
- Skilled executive decision-making and cross-functional influence
- Strong business acumen and critical thinking, and a tech-forward orientation
- Entrepreneurial, "can do" mindset to achieve results and solve complex issues
- Disposition for thoughtful experimentation to achieve innovation, informed by key metrics
- Strength collaborating and building consensus among multifaceted stakeholders to turn ideas into action
- Exceptional communication and influencing ability
- Passion for making the arts accessible, relevant, and reflective of our evolving world
- Completed undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university
Compensation & Benefits
Lincoln Center offers competitive compensation, including a target-based incentive program for eligible employees, and a comprehensive employee benefits plan, including medical, dental and vision coverage, 403(b) savings plan, paid time off, wellness programs, and learning and development opportunities, as well as opportunities to enjoy artistic performances on our stages.
The base salary range for this position is $300,000 to $350,000, with the actual compensation depending on a variety of relevant job-related factors, including, e.g., experience, skill level, and education.
