Position: Lincoln Center Moments Music Therapist

Description: Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts is seeking Music Therapists, experienced in facilitating workshops for individuals with dementia and their caregivers, to develop and lead programs as a part of Lincoln Center Moments, a performance-based program. These skilled and creative Music Therapists will work collaboratively with teaching artists, access educators, and performers to design and lead engaging and accessible performance-based programs. This is an excellent opportunity for music therapists with an interest in deepening their experience leading programs for people with dementia and their caregivers and in the creative aging field.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience designing and leading programs for individuals with dementia and their caregivers
  • Knowledge of dementia and related disabilities, and specific communication and facilitation techniques to best meet their needs
  • Certification / Advanced Degree in Music Therapy
  • Training in creative aging and universal design techniques
  • Ability to engage participants in a group setting
  • Skilled at communicating lesson plan ideas through written documents
  • Interest in collaborative planning and facilitation
  • Experience with virtual facilitation preferred
  • Experience in arts-based community settings strongly preferred
  • Fluency in English and Spanish strongly valued

Scope of Work:
  1. Trainings and Orientations: Orientation with Lincoln Center Moments planning team (2 hours)
  2. Season kick-off meetings in the fall and the spring (1 hour each)
  3. Season debrief meetings in the fall and the spring (90 minutes each)
  4. Group professional development meetings (2 hours in the fall, 6 hours at the beginning of the spring, 2 hours at the end of the spring)
  • Facilitation
    1. Prepare for and attend planning meetings (90-minute meeting per program for a maximum of 8 programs)
    2. Join a pre-program check-in meeting one week prior to each event (60-minute meeting per program for a maximum of 8 programs)
    3. Prepare for and co-lead a one-hour workshop (1 hour prep, 1 hour to observe performance, 1 hour workshop facilitation, 30-minute debrief for a maximum of 8 programs)

Compensation:

  • $70 per two-hour meeting or training.
  • $555 per program, inclusive of planning time and check-in meetings.

Anticipated Program Dates:

  • Fall Orientation, Kick-off, and Professional Development Session: By Sept 30th (dates tbc)
  • Observe Program on Sept 17 from 12pm-3:30pm
  • Fall Program Dates:
    1. September 17th 12pm-3:30pm
    2. October 15th 12pm-3:30pm
    3. November 19th12pm-3:30pm
    4. December 10th 12pm-3:30pm
  • Fall Debrief: TBD December 16th-18th
