We are currently seeking an innovative, energetic and committed Classroom Assistants to join us for the 2022-2023 school year. This is a salaried position and qualifies for our full benefits package!
Classroom Aide Expectations
- Classroom aides will be ready to work by 7:30am and remain in the building until 3:30pm.
- Classroom aides will follow the schedule provided by the classroom teacher.
- Classroom aides will provide support to the teacher to ensure a safe and stimulating educational environment.
- Classroom aides will assist the teacher in planning and preparation for daily activities; aids instructional efforts of the teacher.
- Classroom aides will assist the teacher in preparing lesson outlines, plans, and curricula in assigned areas.
- Classroom aides will plan, prepare, copy, and develop various teaching aids for use in the classroom.
- Classroom aides will present subject matter to children or adults, under the guidance of a classroom teacher.
- Classroom aides will lead classroom activities; may cover the classroom in the absence of the teacher.
- Classroom aide will assist children or adults, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts.
- Classroom aides perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Classroom aides will supervise children for safety and keep the learning environment clean and orderly by picking up learning materials, wiping tables and chairs, etc.
- Attends staff meetings, school programs, and in-service trainings.

Skills/Requirements
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL POSSESS:
- Some prior experience in a school setting preferred
- Strong desire to work within an innovative, urban educational program
- Ability to be flexible and fill numerous different roles, possibly all in one day
- Be a great team player, and coworker
- Enjoy working in a busy, fun environment with scholars
- Must be able to pass a background check
REQUIREMENTS - Must meet one of the following:
- Two years of college experience
- A two-year college degree
- Passed the Para-Pro Assessment
- One year or 1,000 hours of previous employment experience in a school or working with children
- Completed 48 credit hours of college level classes
- Child Development Associate (CDA) Credentials
