Responsibilities:

  • Collaborative partner: Work closely with product owners, and fellow engineers to address technical challenges and maintain high-quality standards within the Liberty Mutual customer experiences.
  • Comprehensive problem-solver: Own the end-to-end development lifecycle of customer onboarding experience, analyzing system-level issues and implementing effective solutions to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Skilled technical engineer: Lead and document the implementation of technical features, improvements, and innovations that advances the Liberty Mutual customer experience.
  • Forward thinker: Go beyond fixing issues by proactively identifying opportunities to enhance performance, quality, and efficiency across the customer experience platforms.

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of software engineering experience, including Agile methodologies and technologies such as JavaScript, NodeJS, Angular, React, NextJS, Typescript, HTML, CSS , GraphQL, GitHub/Github Actions.
  • Strong understanding of cloud technologies (AWS) and architectural patterns (serverless, microservices, event-driven).
  • Solid programming discipline covering unit testing, fault tolerance, data structures, complexity analysis, and design patterns.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
  • Experience leveraging generative AI (genAI) in software engineering is a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with strong presentation abilities.
  • Proficient in negotiation, facilitation, and consensus-building.
  • Adaptability and openness to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, methodologies, technical standards, and security/privacy policies.
  • Thorough understanding of Agile development processes, including backlog management, burndown metrics, and incremental delivery.
  • Strong collaboration skills, a team-first mindset, prioritization abilities, and adaptability.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience.
Highly competitive applicants will have:
  • Cloud-first mentality with hands-on experience in AWS and/or Azure.
  • Growth mindset focused on continuous learning and improvement.
  • Proficiency in Typescript, JavaScript, React, NodeJS, graph/subgraph, GraphQL
  • Experience using CI/CD tools such as GitHub actions and Jira.
  • Commitment to core Agile principles and a strong team-first culture.
  • Data-driven decision-making approach.
  • Experience applying generative AI technologies in software development.
