Are you a seasoned claims professional looking to make a bigger impact? Join Liberty Mutual as a Senior Technical Claims Specialist, and take ownership of complex Commercial Casualty Claims from start to finish. This is a high visibility role where your expertise, judgment and leadership will directly influence outcomes and drive excellence across our organization.
As a trusted claims expert, you will:
- Own the claim process - from coverage analysis and investigation to liability determination, reserve setting, negotiation, and resolution.
- Lead complex litigation strategy - review lawsuits, coordinate with legal teams, and drive resolution plans that balance risk and business impact.
- Collaborate cross-functionally - work closely with Underwriting, Reinsurance, Legal, and other internal partners to ensure alignment and optimal outcomes.
- Mentor and influence - share your knowledge with peers, guide junior staff, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Stay ahead of the curve - monitor legislative and industry trends, and help shape claims policies and procedures accordingly.
- Drive innovation - participate in strategic projects that enhance our claims capabilities and customer experience.
- Proven experience handling complex commercial casualty claims, including litigation and coverage analysis.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage external counsel and internal stakeholders effectively.
- A collaborative mindset and a passion for mentoring others.
- Deep understanding of insurance regulations, legal trends, and industry best practices.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 5 to 7 years claims adjusting experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Commercial Casualty claims investigation, coverage evaluation, reserving & expense management, resolution strategy, negotiation, litigation management, claims evaluation as well as the insurance legal and regulatory environment.
- Intermediate to advanced level of skill in the area of customer focus, problem solving, communications, gaining support, teamwork, and adaptability and demonstrated ability to work independently, achieve results and execute thoroughly
- Litigated claims experience preferred.
Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
