The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

The GRS Sustainability Team is seeking an experienced and talented insurance professional to join the team to drive the integration of our sustainability strategy across our $14B global commercial business.

Responsibilities:
  • The Senior Sustainability Consultant will have a passion for sustainability and driving towards a more sustainable future. Reporting to and supporting the GRS Head of Sustainability and wider team, the Senior Sustainability Consultant will:
  • Support implementation of the GRS sustainability strategy as a contributing subject matter expert, leveraging specialized expertise to design and implement solutions to complex sustainability-related issues facing the organization.
  • Coordinate and support the integration of sustainability factors into business decision- making , with a focus on underwriting, including deep collaboration with the Office of Underwriting and associated partners (e.g. product, risk services/engineering, distribution & client management teams, claims, risk management, and data and technology).
  • Supporting the delivery of shared objectives with the Energy Transition team, part of Insurance Solutions in the Office of Underwriting.
  • Manage the implementation and tracking of use of our sustainable underwriting guidelines.
  • Collaborate with GRS business segments and key partners like the enterprise Office of Sustainability to increase awareness of sustainability programs and to develop solutions that meet stakeholder and client needs - ranging from products and services to processes and change management.
  • Develop strategies and content for internal and external initiatives, ranging from internal communications to high quality, relevant training programs to external-facing presentations and reports for key stakeholders including clients and brokers.
  • Put excellent project management and organisational skills to prioritise competing deliverables and handle large number of diverse stakeholders.
  • Perform in a detail-oriented, diligent, and efficient manner in executing high-quality final products.
  • Be comfortable with ambiguity and ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • On occasion, represent GRS Sustainability on internal and external forums focused on sustainability.
Location: US, UK or Europe - including alignment with a Liberty Mutual office, hybrid or fully remote working. Expect 5% travel, which may vary based on your location.

***Compensation will be commensurate based on experience.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of direct or highly related Sustainability/ESG experience
  • Global P&C insurance industry experience, especially relating to underwriting, preferred
  • Bachelor`s degree (in related field) or equivalent experience
  • Advanced degree (in related field) preferred
  • Subject matter expertise on sustainability and/or experience designing and implementing solutions for complex sustainability issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as influencing and relationship management, skills with experience engaging senior leaders
  • Strong organizational and project planning skills with a proven track record of cross-functional implementation
  • A team player comfortable flexibility responding to business needs as part of a nimble team
