The US Retail Markets Experience team is seeking a highly skilled and highly motivated individual to take on the role of Sr. Director, Product Solutions - Core Product Platforms. This role will lead 100+ talented FTEs and manage ~$75M across Personal Lines and Small Commercial product portfolios: Risk Pricing, IoT & Third-Party Data, Personal Lines Policy, Personal Lines Product Definition, and our Systems Support team. These capabilities are foundational to driving growth and profitability across US Retail Markets, while enabling critical investments for Distribution, Service, Claims, and Billing.
The role is also central to our multiyear transformational journey to simplify and modernize our Product offering and our Technology. As a leader on this journey, you will help reshape the foundation for Personal Lines at scale-modernizing core product systems, improving speed to market for products, and delivering more accurate, timely data to business partners and customers. Your work will directly enable profitable growth, operational resilience, and cross-platform initiatives across the enterprise.
Software product (SWP) capabilities are the foundation of how we work in US Retail Markets Experience. You will own and evolve our strategies and roadmaps for the SWP's you own. You will lead cross-functional Agile delivery with internal teams and third-party vendors and collaborate across the organization to advance core product capabilities and enable business initiatives.
The Leader in this role will:
- Lead: Be a leader, coach, and mentor to a team of Product Owners and Systems Analysts, particularly as undertake USRM's largest transformation.
- Strategize: Support the portfolios in the development of roadmap, strategies, and visions for the suite of software products based on a deep understanding of the markets, users, and related industry trends.
- Prioritize : Establish objectives and key results (OKRs) in alignment with the roadmap and overall business strategy.
- Analyze, Decide and Execute: Harness data-driven insights to build business cases and/or inform roadmap actions and strategy. Execute and deliver target key results.
- Collaborate: Collaborate closely with the team, Technology partners as well as peer portfolio teams within Product and across Domains to align priorities, remove roadblocks and secure resources to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Present: Present frequently to peers and sr. leaders building alignment on your vision and strategy with a complex set of stakeholders.
- Bachelors' degree in relevant field and a minimum of 10 years' experience in product, product delivery, or technology within financial services, customer or technology organizations
- Proven experience in product-centric and agile practices. Sufficient technical proficiency to drive product design and have an informed, independent voice
- Passionate and self-motivated with a desire to learn new tools and technologies
- Strong strategic and problem solver mindset with ability to break down complex problems into testable components
- Comfortable with making decisions with some level of uncertainty (incl. prioritization), proven ability to pivot and adjust quickly as new information is presented, and comfortable working in a fast paced and high-pressure environment.
- Leverage analytics to make data driven decisions that maximizes short/long term value
- Strong influencing skills, working with peers and leaders in a complex cross-functional environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
