Description
- Under limited supervision, responsible for the analysis, development and execution of data solutions, in order to manage the information lifecycle needs of an organization.
 - Collects, integrates and analyzes organizational data with the purpose of drawing conclusions about that information.
 - Develops, constructs, tests and maintains data architectures for data platform, database, analytical/reporting, or data science systems.
 - Establishes and builds data systems including providing standards, policies, practice, procedures, governance and quality assurance for data deliverables.
 - Recommends methods to improve data reliability, quality, and efficiency.
 - Serves as a technical expert within the team and analyzes complex technical problems and provides solutions.
 - May mentor junior team members.
 - Domestic travel required up to 5%.
 - Telecommuting permitted up to 100%.
 
Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a Senior Data Engineer related occupation.
- Position requires demonstrable experience in the following:
 - Delivering data solutions via agile methodologies on AWS, S3, Athena, Snowflake and Informatica (IDMC).
 - Working with Data Vault 2.0, Vault speed and demonstrated advanced knowledge of data modeling tools and techniques.
 - Demonstrating expertise in Python, JavaScript functions and Advanced SQL including complex data manipulation, query optimization, CTEs and UDFs.
 - ETL tools (Informatica) and demonstrated strong understating of data warehousing concepts and platforms.
 - Working with cloud environment AWS EMR, EC2, S3 and Athena.
 - Demonstrating expertise in using IDEs and Tools including Eclipse, GitHub, Jenkins.
 - Managing the source code in GitHub Actions and track and delivering requirements in Jira.
 - Demonstrated proficiency in all the following technologies: Snowflake, IDMC, Data Vault 2.0, Vault Speed, Advanced SQL, Python, Kafka, GitHub Actions, CI/CD, AWS and S3 Athena.
 - Demonstrated proficiency in data engineering languages, tools languages and frameworks.
 - Demonstrated ability to develop on multiple platforms.
 - Strong negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills.
 - Being versed in diverse technologies and new technical architecture principles and concepts.
 - Demonstrated extensive knowledge in layered systems architectures solutions and designs and shared data engineering concepts.
 - Business function(s) and I/T industry business issues.
 - Demonstrated extensive knowledge of business operations, strategies and objectives.
 - Demonstrated extensive understanding of agile data engineering concepts and processes.
 - Demonstrated extensive consultative skills, including the ability to understand and apply customer requirements, including drawing out unforeseen implications and making recommendations for design.
 - Defining design reasoning, understanding potential impacts of design requirements.
 - Designing and building data provisioning workflows, pipelines, physical data schemas, extracts, data transformations, and data integrations.
 - Domestic travel required up to 5%.
 - Telecommuting permitted up to 100%.
