Responsibilities
  • Under limited supervision, the candidate will analyze and configure software, applications, and programs from general requirements and specifications. The role is responsible for designing, maintaining, modifying, testing, resolving bugs, and enhancing existing functionality. The role is seen as a technical expert with strong business knowledge that can effectively analyze complex business and technical problems and provides solutions.
  • Support the strategic adoption of Anaplan across Liberty Mutual Investments, serving as a key technical liaison between business stakeholders and the corporate Anaplan team. Partner in defining requirements, shaping model design, and guiding the development and enhancement of models that meet evolving organizational needs.
  • Assist in efforts to ensure Anaplan models effectively support investment finance functions which include forecasting, budgeting, expense modeling, and long-range planning. Drive existing model enhancements and support adoption as Anaplan becomes more widely used for financial planning across Liberty Mutual Investments.
  • Support our Alternative Investment teams in defining and implementing Anaplan use cases for modeling cashflows, investment compliance monitoring and valuation and performance models. Responsible for working in a team to design and guide cross-functional alignment of Anaplan with LMI's investment and finance organizations.
  • Leverage expertise in investment platforms and core data sets supporting the Investment Book of Record (IBOR) and Accounting Book of Record (ABOR) across the investment lifecycle for both public and private asset classes.
  • Demonstrate general knowledge and understanding of the function and use of key technology platforms including BlackRock Aladdin, SimCorp Dimension, eFront, Cobalt, PowerBI and Snowflake.
  • Support data sourcing and extraction by leveraging integration methods such as Anaplan Connect, APIs, and ETL tools to enable seamless data flow into and out of Anaplan models.
  • Leverage knowledge of investment management processes and data - particularly in fixed income and alternative asset classes such as structured credit, direct lending, and private equity.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of key activities and responsibilities within a finance organization at an investment manager.
  • Facilitate discovery sessions with senior stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into actionable and scalable solutions.
  • Demonstrated eagerness to continually enhance knowledge and expertise within Anaplan and other investment applications and processes.
  • Contribute to development of applications as part of an Agile Scrum team within a scaled Agile framework, collaborating closely with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver iterative value.
  • Analyze and prepare complex technology enabled recommendations to address gaps within a single business process.
  • Develop complex test scripts and assist with coordinating and researching testing defects
Qualifications
  • Generally, 5+ years of professional experience
  • Three to five years of professional experience with Anaplan for financial planning + experience in alternative investment Anaplan use cases a plus
  • Anaplan Model Builder certification a plus
  • Bachelor or Master`s degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience
  • Strong negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; presentation skills Extensive knowledge of the following: IT concepts, strategies, methodologies
  • Versed in diverse technologies and new technical architecture principles and concepts
  • Extensive knowledge in layered systems architectures solutions and designs and shared software concepts
  • Business function(s) and I/T industry business issues; extensive knowledge of business operations, strategies and objectives
  • Strong in multiple programming languages and tools
  • Extensive understanding of agile software development concepts and processes
  • Must be proactive, demonstrate initiative and be a logical thinker
  • Extensive consultative skills, including the ability to understand and apply customer requirements, including drawing out unforeseen implications and making recommendations for design, the ability to define design reasoning, understanding potential impacts of design requirements
  • Extensive understanding of backlog tracking, burndown metrics, and incremental delivery
  • Strong collaboration, prioritization, and adaptability skills required
