Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and coordinate the migration of our analytics environment from SAS Enterprise Guide (EG) to SAS Viya. The successful candidate will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of the migration project, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations and successful adoption of the SAS Viya platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end project management of the migration from SAS EG to SAS Viya.
  • Develop detailed project plans including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, risk management, and communication strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (business stakeholders, data architects, IT) to ensure alignment on key decisions

  • Coordinate the assessment of current SAS EG assets in partnership with an outside contractor
  • Lead engagement with external contractor to migrate all identified assets to SAS Viya, supporting communication between internal asset owners and external partner
  • Actively engage Data leadership in program progress, quickly identifying and escalating roadblocks and key decisions
  • Communicate project progress, and deliverables to business managers and program leads to ensure transparency and consistent messaging is received by key parties
  • Ensure adherence to organizational standards, compliance requirements, and best practices throughout the migration process.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
  • Exceptional project management skills - experience working on large-scale, cross-functional programs is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills - can clearly and directly convey project objectives, updates, and challenges to stakeholders; is comfortable sharing their perspective directly and respectfully and escalates effectively
  • Open-minded and broad-thinking, someone who seeks diverse perspectives and considers all angles of a problem in order to arrive at the best possible outcome for Liberty Mutual as a whole
  • Excellent organizational skills - effectively prioritizes tasks for themselves and others and coordinates multiple initiatives simultaneously without losing sight of overall objectives
  • A collaborative mindset - works easily across organizational hierarchies to create momentum towards a common goal; proactively builds and leverages new relationships to tap into organizational expertise
  • Financial acumen - understands and proactively considers the top- and bottom-line impacts of data decisions and investments, effectively incorporating them into robust business cases
  • Strong background in data and/or analytics required
Preferred Skills:
  • Hands-on experience with SAS Viya and SAS EG.
  • Knowledge of data migration, ETL processes, and analytics workflow redesign.
  • Understanding of cloud platforms and infrastructure related to SAS Viya deployments.
  • Change management and user adoption experience.
Qualifications
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required
  • Experience in communicating recommendations to senior business leaders preferred
  • BA/BS, or relevant work experience, in Computer Science or related field preferred
  • MBA or advanced degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or other quantitative discipline strongly preferred
  • 7-10 years of experience working in coding methodologies and design principles, particularly in open source tools and technology
