The office location options are Portsmouth, NH, Columbus, OH, Indianapolis, IN, and Plano, TX.

As an IAM Product Owner you are a highly visible face of identity and access management both within and outside of our department. In this role, you will lead the charge keeping Liberty's Promise by protecting our systems and data from risk and enabling business through cybersecurity compliance.

Job Description Responsibilities:

As a member of the Agile team, the Product Owner represents the voice of the customer and the organization through the delivery of business value. This person works closely with stakeholders (business and technology), including Lines of Business leadership, to define and prioritize features and stories, ensuring alignment with customer needs and organizational goals. This person understands customers' problems in detail and ensures the problems are clearly defined, prioritized and the squad/team is focused on the most valuable work. The Product Owner is the team member always communicating with stakeholders to ensure an aligned understanding of how the squad/team can provide the highest value to the customer through the lens of the portfolio. This person collaborates with squads/teams, technologies and architects across portfolios to develop a deep understanding of the technologies and systems they support.

Additional Information About This Role

This Product Owner role aligns with the Global Cybersecurity (GCS) Identity and Access Management (IAM) program and specifically IAM Governance. This role leads a squad responsible for strengthening governance, risk, and compliance for both IAM systems and those relying on and using our products and services. The ideal candidate is experienced in a highly dependent and collaborative environment, confident in a high visibility role, has demonstrated experience which includes cybersecurity governance, risk and compliance experience as well product leadership with Lean-Agile for SAFe.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Alignment

    • Partner with IT, Governance, Risk and Compliance, and Business Stakeholders, to align product goals with strategic priorities.

    • Resolve issues and remove execution roadblocks in collaboration with squads/teams.
    • Identifies and mitigates delivery risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies roadblocks.
Regulatory & Compliance Awareness
    • Understand and communicate regulatory, compliance, and industry constraints.
    • Ensure mandated deadlines for multi-state and international operations are met.
Strategic Planning & Execution
    • Contribute to product and portfolio-level planning and roadmap development.
    • Collaborate with senior Product Owners on quarterly planning and prioritization.
Communication & Value Delivery
    • Confident in a high visibility role at multiple levels in the organization.
    • Maintain continuous communication across organizational levels to ensure clarity of outcomes and value delivery.
    • Set stakeholder expectations for feature and capability releases.
Agile Product Ownership
    • Own and prioritize the product backlog; ensure clarity and actionability of user stories.
    • Actively participate in agile ceremonies (planning, demos, retrospectives).
    • Maintains strong working partnerships with other Product Owners, Scrum Masters and Senior Technical Professional.
    • Ensures dependencies between their squad and engineering squads are identified, understood and managed so they don't become risks or issues to delivery.
    • Lead by example our High-Performance Culture.
Lean-Agile & SAFe Practices
    • Demonstrate success in Lean-Agile environments, particularly SAFe frameworks.
    • Support squad/team in achieving product-level KPIs.
Customer-Centric Design
    • Lead customer-driven design and usability testing (CDD & UT).
    • Leads defining IAM business process(es) such as value stream mapping.
    • Ensure IAM product positioning through market and industry analysis.
Product Health & Viability
    • Monitor product health, balancing short-term delivery with long-term sustainability with a significant focus on maintaining IAM governance, reducing risk and achieving compliance standards.
    • Analyze feasibility, cost of delay, and economic impact of product changes.
Vision & Strategy Contribution
    • Help shape product vision and align it with broader portfolio strategy.
    • Communicate vision across squads/teams and functional areas.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and IT project management as typically acquired through a Bachelors` degree in relevant field (business, computer science, humanities etc.) and a minimum of 3 to 5 years direct experience with agile teams as well as 7 years in business, technology, or consulting.
  • Able to depict and explain the importance of complex ideas, issues and designs to varied audiences; educate SBU/department(s) on business vision and plan and the impact of change.
  • Able to influence a diverse group of stakeholders; strong leadership skills.
  • Able to make difficult and quick decisions daily.
  • Strong problem solver with demonstrated ability to lead a team to push the solutions and progress.
  • Experience in the insurance industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of relevant products and portfolio preferred.
  • Strong experimental mindset to drive innovation amongst uncertainty.

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
