Pay Philosophy
The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Description
- Lead the transformation and aggressive modernization of our core business systems.
- Support the GRM US strategic objective of being #1 in the Independent Agent (IA) channel.
- Drive performance and stability optimizations for the platform while providing technical leadership across the community.
- Focus on quality, engineering excellence, and scalability to drive long-term expansion and success of the business.
- Lead deliveries of flagship initiatives and commitments.
- Drive engineering excellence with participation in the High-Performance Engineering program.
- Maximize reuse by demonstrating championing common software patterns and designing componentized features.
- Travel required up to 10%.
- Telecommuting permitted up to 100%.

Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a Principal Software Engineer-related occupation.
Position requires demonstrable experience in the following:
- Java and Springboot.
- JAXB and Eclipse.
- Databases.
- Working with GitHub.
- CI/CD; DevOps; Jira; Maven and AWS associated technologies.
- Travel required up to 10%.
- Telecommuting permitted up to 100%.
